I'm assuming Theis has been super busy irl, so I've been hesitant to try and involve Vatro in anything until things clear up for him.

Also Dusk, can I make a Nature check on the Maw, based on Kerash's description?

Hmm, sure. With Disadvantage though, since it's pretty vague information.

Yeah, no. The only thing Veska can get is that it sounds pretty big, if the mouth was able to swallow a live Kobold in one bite.

I posted to let Uragh know what we're dealing with, but I'm good to timeskip whenever.

Yeah I've been busy and house sitting for my parents without a computer present for the last two weeks, which made playing forum games surprisingly hard for me. That's over with though, so I should be a bit more regular in my posting now :lol:

I intended to have Vatro produce some good alcoholic beverages, anything I should roll for that? More in case we were going to sneak in as wine/liquor dealers at the party if that was an opportunity that could arise with the help of the charismatic people. Otherwise Vatro is more of a cat burgler, so he would be more interested in joining up with Veska and Uragh in their expedition, than going out and be fancy with Jax and Kytiel.

Been up for almost 24 hours now, so won't get into the game properly tonight

Oh yeah, I guess I could craft something alchemical too.

Okay, so Crafting rules are that for every day you spend, you make 5gp worth of non-magical stuff. So as you've spent about half the day on this, you can make 2.5gp of stuff.

Since Alchemist's Fire and Acid are 50gp and 25gp respectively, I've decided those rules are dumb.

New Rules!
- You make [5 + (roll x 5)] gp of progress every day/8 hours, where the roll is a dice based on your proficiency (currently 1d6).
- Mundane materials cost 50% of item market value (100% for magical crafting).
- Alcohol needs time to ferment before it's ready to be consumed. Beer needs at least week, while wine/spirits need 2 weeks.
- Alchemical items are ready to use as soon as crafting is complete.
- You can craft "Artisan" items (in this case alcohol) with a selling price that increases based on how successfully you roll on an Ability Check. If you fail the roll (DC = current gp price / 10), the batch goes bad and is capped at 5gp sale price.
Since the Ball is in a week, I'm going to let you say you had some artisan wine and/or spirit already fermenting over the past week or so. You'll still need to roll to see how good the quality is though - let's say 4 days worth of rolls, split however you'd like if you're brewing multiple things.

------------------------------

So, for today, we can say you spent the full 8 hours crafting. You can decide whether you spent that time on Brewing or Alchemy.

Oos! Sorry - not used to looking for rolls in the OOC! I rolled the whole lot twice by accident, but the first set are:

Performance (with ADV) = 2D20.HIGH(1)+6 = [1, 13]+6 = 19
Perception = 1D20+6 = [11]+6 = 17

((The ADV comes from his Actor feat))

Is Vatro planning on coming along with Uragh and Veska?
Dusk9 wrote:The search for Protection from Poison turns out to not be as difficult as you'd anticipated, however. Tarquin comes through for you yet again, sending the location of a cleric willing to cast it....for the low low price of 40gp per person. There's also a warning that he miiiight hike up that price a little if the one asking is a monstrous race. Something about a "holy redemption tax".
If he is, then it'd be nice if Vatro could be the one to ask the cleric to cast Protection from Poison on Veska.

If I'm reading this right, that is, and the cleric isn't potentially charging monstrous races more for the service, period.

Basically, yeah. 40gp per person, +X amount if that person is a monstrous/non-PHB race. Of course, if he doesn't know you're a Kobold, he won't know to jack up the price.... :paranoia:

((Half-Orcs are fine though. His church is actually super-progressive in that regard :P ))

Re: The Heist - OOC

Vatro would like to join the sewer crew for some action :P

Beer, wine, wine, spirits: 1D6 = [2] = 2 (15 gp worth of beer)
1D6 = [5] = 5 (30 gp worth of wine)
1D6 = [4] = 4 (25 gp worth of wine)
1D6 = [3] = 3 (20 gp worth of snaps)

Todays acid production: 1D6 = [1] = 1 (need 2.5 gold more of production)

Would the ability check be wisdom and do I add proficiency from brewing?

I've subtracted the protection from poison and all the production costs from my sheet. Good thing I had saved up for that! Btw, how much would a small mirror/mirror shard cost?

Let's say WIS +prof, yeah. So 1d20+6 for you.

And since the DC is value/10, that also means that you can't possibly fail unless the value of the alcohol is over 80gp. On which note I might change the DC to value/5, otherwise things could get a little absurd :roll:

Either way it doesn't matter for this situation, though. Is the wine roll for two separate bottles, or just the one?

You now have fermenting in your micro-brewery;
- A barrel of richly flavoured stout ale (50 gallons, estimated worth 15gp)
- A bottle of strong snaps (24 oz, estimated value 20gp)
- And either 1 bottle of fine 55gp wine, or two bottles of not-quite-so-good-but-still-expensive wine (30gp and 25gp)

Your Acid needs another 15gp worth of work until it's ready to use.

Quick reminder: you only spend 50% of the value of the drinks on materials. So it's cost you 97.5gp to brew/alchemise all this. Just checking you subtracted the amounts correctly :)

And a small mirror will cost you about 5gp.

Wouldn't it be worth twice as much though since I'm only paying 50% in materials and production?

The value roll [5 + (1d6 x5)] gives the estimated value of the alcohol should you sell it. You spend 50% of that on materials.

So since you rolled 15gp for the beer, it's worth that much, and you spent 7.5gp on materials.

Re: The Heist - OOC

So then it only cost me 57.5 (45 on booze alone) on making it all :P

1D20+6 = [13]+6 = 19
1D20+6 = [18]+6 = 24
1D20+6 = [5]+6 = 11
1D20+6 = [17]+6 = 23

So all of it should be of at least decent quality to really good :P

...derp, yes. Sorry, don't know why I thought it was 97.5gp. I'm going to blame it on lack of sleep :roll:

By my calculations it should be 50gp spent though?

15 (beer) + 20 (snaps) + 55 (wine) + 10 (acid) = 100gp /2 = 50gp?

Plus 5gp for that mirror, if you want it. And 40gp for the Protection from Poison casting.

@Theis, we still never really resolved how Veska and Vatro decided to split the gold up from the Office burglary. Veska's offer was 170 for him and 210 for her (the original offer being 150 to 230, which Vatro took exception to), on account of her finding and cracking the safe with the money in it, and her needing to buy a 65 gold Detect Magic scroll to find the safe in the first place.

Is 170 for Vatro and 210 for Veska acceptable?

@Dusk, so what would the total travel time be to go from the kobolds' temporary den, then to where Rezak died, then to where the Maw is? And would Veska's Natural Explorer cut down on all of this travel time?

Natural Explorer - Underdark (underground, etc.)
- Difficult terrain doesn’t slow your group’s travel.

Current location to Den: 10 minutes
Den to Rezak: 10 minutes
Rezak to Maw: 15 minutes

Of course, this is all assuming no delays. You could move faster, but then you'll lose the ability to Stealth, and take a -5 to Perception checks if you're moving fast enough (see pg182 of the PHB for numbers, current times are based on Slow movement).

I'd already included Veska's improved navigation in the calculations. These tunnels are windy as hell, and Uragh can't fit through a lot of the ones you'd usually take.
