Well Veska also has Natural Explorer down here. Does the double proficiency bonus to Perception not count for Passive Perception?

Double post: Veska should currently have the same Passive Perception as Vatro
Page 175, Passive Checks wrote:Here’s how to determine a character’s total for a passive check:

10 + all modifiers that normally apply to the check
So Veska should be able to add her Natural Explorer bonus, resulting in a Passive Perception of 16

Yep, Theis got it :P

I feel this is a good time to mention that the average Kobold has a Passive Perception of 8. And Barusk is only slightly better than average

So would Veska see the thing in the water with her 16 passive perception, too? That'll have a big effect on what she does :shifty:

Oh right, forgot Natural Explorer doubles your Passive Perception bonus too. In that case sure, you notice it on the edge of your vision. You don't get as clear a look as Vatro does though.

Good news! They're both still alive, so you have plenty of choices :D

Reminder that Kobolds have Pack Tactics, Dusk. They get Advantage with Veska and Barusk next to the underwater one, and with Uragh next to the one he's attacking, or at least cancel out Disadvantage if they have any.

Uragh is blocking the way to the one crawler right? Can I shoot past it without hitting Uragh?

I don't believe there's a penalty, since the Crawler is a Large creature and Uragh is only Medium.

If Crawlers were Medium creatures it would likely have 1/2 cover, as per the Cover rules:
Page 196, Cover wrote:A target with half cover has a +2 bonus to AC and
Dexterity saving throws. A target has half cover if an
obstacle blocks at least half of its body. The obstacle
might be a low wall, a large piece of furniture, a narrow
tree trunk, or a creature, whether that creature is an
enemy or a friend.

I would count that as the monster having half cover because Uragh's in the way. In the abstraction that is D&D battle mechanics, a medium creature takes up basically a 5x5 foot space; a large one takes up 10x10, so from a particular side, the medium creature would block half of the large one. Small creatures also take up a 5x5 foot space, so would provide the same cover mechanically as a medium one, even though that arguably makes no sense at all. I guess it's a simplification for these sorts of mechanics

Yeah, I'm going to say it was half-cover. Uragh is a big boy :P

(Also these tunnels are only 5ft wide, so he's technically taking up the entire space.)

What roll would it be to start searching for Rezak's boots? Perception? Survival, maybe?

Hmm....both. Survival to track down the nest, Perception to find them.

@Spider: The streets are pretty quiet now, but there are still people heading home. Plus the occasional group of partiers moving between pubs.

Roll Performance to blend in, and Insight to guess where they're going so you can duck ahead.

The full address that the elf went into (no. 11 I think). Jax is knocking on number 9 tho.

This is another stupid plan.

Ah, okay then. Just as a reminder though, since I realise it's getting pretty confusing;

- Eris was the one at the bank, and went into No.11
- "Erin" is the name Barric gave, and he said they live at No.9
- No.9 had movement inside it, while No.11 seemed empty. Both were lit by candlelight.

...oh. this is confusing! Ok, he'll go to number 11 and knock, and write 9 on the paper.

It really is the stupidest plan.

Since Vatro doesn't technically know Veska is a Kobold yet, can I have an Insight check for figuring it out? He already felt something scaly the previous night, and now knows she can speak Kobold/Draconic. And apparently has a weird relationship with the sewer Kobolds?

Not too hard to figure out? She's been talking about the kobolds all this time and Uragh could have mentioned it while he got Vatro :p

So how do you handle group stealth Dusk? I know on page 175 there's a bit on Group Checks, where if at least half of the group succeeds then they all do.

I figure I'd ask since Veska is entirely incapable of breaking 15
