((That's an awful lot of insight without a roll there Joe. The ice is a given as you used it and the fire was hinted at but the last bit has a bitter taste of meta, especially since you've never faced something with that.))

Hag History: 1D20+1 = [3]+1 = 4

"So, Joe, What have you been doing since we parted ways? Other than getting in a feud with a hag? And did Ves say anything special before she headed out?"

"Tryin' ta solve who kill'd someun. Which was tha hag. And she knock'd meh out fer...a few days...I think?"

(The hag suggested she was probably immune to fire, or at least resistant, and ruby found the ice. As for the non magic, you are probably right..? I was just kinda guessing though I guess I can make a roll)

Lurn and Jaq have heard of hags, and that's about it. Kroshav on the other hand knows what he head from Sir Tarneth. If he is remembering right, they like making deals. They normally keep their deals too, which is odd since they also apparently have bags made out of people. And eat babies. He is pretty sure Tarneth said they eat babies or maybe it was just people in general? Anyways, someone made a bad deal, love potion(?), and Sir Tarneth had to fight the hag and he won but she got away. Not his best story.

Joe knows some hags are demons and some are fey, which can mean they are immune to any number of things, and are, as a rule, powerful spellcasters. They use special magical items to enhance their powers and torment creatures in their sleep. They stick close to their deals and can be good sources of arcana knowledge and secrets. The shifting ability of this hag strongly implies she was a night hag, but Joe can't be sure.

((Burns was guessing, Joe would not have a clue. I know it's hard to keep what you know and Joe knows separate, but I'll remind you! And if I suspect blatant metagaming there is nothing to stop me from changing the game :P))

((I guess our characters just wouldn't even consider the existence of a difference between "magic" and "non-magic" weapons where it comes to resisting the attacks.))

"So, fire and ice don't work and it used a magic spell. Anything we should know about the magic? I only really know clerical spells."

"I'm up for helping you out with this Joe, though you are the more magically knowledgable one of us. But I'm all for tracking and helping take it out from afar! We actually just fought some trolls. They are crazy to fight as they heal so quick. But Kroshav and some of the others were prepared and really smacked the be-ladles out of them."

((Ghram took off a while ago, he went off to chat up the soldiers escorting Kroshav and co.'s group.))

Tom and Cassie are having a quiet discussion but Tom says,

"It was nearly five days ago Joe, ya've been out for a while. Are ya planning on heading out now? Sun's about to to set."

Cassie comes over, wiping her eyes,

"I can make up a meal for ya and ya friends?"

Celus, Indra and Dama are all game to follow along to kill a baby stealing hag. Jolly doesn't say anything either way but looks happy that Dama was onboard. Dama only says,

"I won't be spending winter without a proper roof and walls. This close to the mountains we got another month, month and an a half before we'll be seeing snow." Indra nods in agreement.

Jaq pipes up when the topic of getting somewhere before winter comes up.
"Well we have a good month, and by then I would like to go back to Stenrek. Check on my father and see how the city is doing. Being a big city, we can sell some of the stuff we have found, and maybe find some job to do nearby, where we can always find a warm city to come back to each evening."

Cassie nods at the general desire to spend the evening here and heads over to the wagon and starts off loading things while Tom moves over and stokes the fire.

"Gonna be an hour. Da, get some water, couple of buckets."

Tom nods and grabs some buckets to fill, Celus offering to help him. Indra and Dama go about setting up camp nearby with Jolly setting up Celus's tent and his own. He has a conversation with Dama and Indra as he does so,

"Seeing a hellavalot of the forest this trip. Ya like roughing it in the woods Indra?"

She gives a short shake of her head, "No. It is part of the reason I started as a guard, to get away from these trees. Still, every time I come home I get dragged into them for something or the other."

Jolly gives a grunt of acknowledgement, "Can understand that."

Dama finishes up and wanders over to help Cassie, swatting Jolly on the rear as she goes by which causes him to lose his grip on a tie and the tent to collapse with is curse. Dama walks on with a chuckle and a grin.

Dinner is simple but filling and everyone finds easy rest that night. Joe gets an owl Ruby ready and Lurn makes a few prayers to his god.

The night is uneventful but a cold drizzle begins before dawn and doesn't show any signs of letting up. Tom makes up a breakfast that is dinner reheated but is just as filling as it was the night before. As everyone packs up to leave Cassie and Tom also pack up their wagon, looking to roll out with another small group of refugees, travels and a handful of soldiers.

Tom approaches Kroshav and offers him a hand,

"Thank ya lad for coming yaself to let me know what ya knew about Grey. If ya are ever in my neck of the woods again, swing by."

The rest move to where Ghram, the officer in charge now, explains,

"This is about where they came out with Joe, I think? It has been a while. The guy that brought her out left a while back along with nearly everyone that went in with her."

((So how is Joe wanting to approach this search? Anyone else chipping in and how?
Survival to find the trail.))

I think the best place to start searching is near where the battle between her and the hag went down. If the trapper is available, maybe he can help as well?
