Re: Will kin be back?
I rather hope Kin doesn't come back. All of the Alt-Kins are smart and I like the idea that they will spend years mastering the machinery of the pocket reality where they now live. I like to think of Kin as happy and stable there.

Have you forgotten why they're there in the first place? No matter how much time they take, they'll eventually exit and the Jade Teapot will be delivered in at least 1 of 4 realities.

Re: Will kin be back?
Do we know for sure that the other realities are also there for the teapot?
It seems highly unlikley to me that each and every reality are there for that reason. Zombies FMK, for example...
It seems mor reasonalbe to me that each reality is there for a differant item from the treasure room.

But even in that reality (Reality #98), it was Kin who wanted it. TortureMax knew through her about it. And his Kin is no more.

Even if you understood that correctly, it would still mean the same for Gkom: Kin 156 isn't the only one after the Jade Teapot. But you really need to read that again: he wonders if it can send you to dead people and he's going to find out.

Re: Will Kin be back?
What I think is that when the Maze resets, the teapot (or whatever was claimed by the previous run winners) will reappear in the treasure room. As nobody can come back inside the MoM after they won, it is not possible to have a duplicate item in an "outside" reality.

I've read it, and it clearly states the Kin #98 told MinMax #98 about the teapot.BuildsLegos wrote:Even if you understood that correctly, it would still mean the same for Gkom: Kin 156 isn't the only one after the Jade Teapot. And I am a romantic, he wants to find out if the teapot can bring him to his Kin.

That's very true. Forgot about that. It's does encourages us to think that all the kins are looking for it. But I still think that not all of the FMKs are after the teapot. I have no idea how on (alt)earth zombie FMK got there, for instance...BuildsLegos wrote:Even if you understood that correctly, it would still mean the same for Gkom: Kin 156 isn't the only one after the Jade Teapot. Never mind. apparently the kins realy are after the teapot which supprts the theory that each time some kin takes it out of there it resets back and creats a duplicate (kinda like in the prestige, but not realy anything like it).
I suppose, than, that if the teapot resets there will be no cause for real rivalry between the Kins (which they will surely figure out real quick) and they will be able to go on and do the maze as many times as they'll please.BuildsLegos wrote:Have you forgotten why they're there in the first place? Reality #98 (Altsplanations 5) wrote:Before she was murdered, Kin talked about how she was looking for a Jade Teapot [...]
I am still of the same meaning.
It was Kin #98 who proposed to get the Jade Teapot from the dungeon Maze of Many.
When Minmax #98 searched for a way to get back to her, he remembered what she told of the abilities of the Jade Teapot.
He did not want to go to the MoM before he met her, and before Dellyn #98 killed her and Forgath #98 he saw no reason to go there alone.
Because of Kin #98 he knew about the Jade Teapot, and only because of that Minmax #98 can go into the MoM trying to find it.
I think we're stuck in a misunderstanding:
That was all I said in the first post, and all I pointed to. I linked to the Altsplanation, so everyone could read for themselves that Kin is dead. I saw no need to repeat that.
And I never wrote that Kin #98 went into the MoM.
And indeed, for GKom the result is the same: several contestants go for the same loot/prize.
But that does not matter, in previous discussion there's been a consensus amongst forumites that the Maze resets all physical things as they were at teh beginning of that run. So, any loot taken (from the treasure room or other parties) gets respawned witht he maze.
It will not go a second time to the same reality anyway (or very unlikely, as it must be a different party to go for the same item).
So, there are as many Jade Teapots as there will be winning parties...
Edit: Oh wait: I actually did write that his Kin is dead:
Anyway, my reason back then for posting anything was to deliver a link to the Altsplanation referred to in the post before. Just to complete the context for anyone reading here.Krulle wrote:But even in that reality (Reality #98), it was Kin who wanted it. TortureMax knew through her about it. And his Kin is no more.
BTW, how did Minmax #98 pass the entrance to the MoM alive?
He was totally going to pee on this sword....
No-one was there to warn him that the penis go boom.

Or just maybe this minmax has a slightly higher wisdom score.

Better if farmer lady returns pregnant with Minmax's child rather than a snake woman with means to conquer world for evil with horde of her snake allies. If you can't figure out how, then think... she was working for the tools, she now has the tools, quit being naive in the ways of evil monsters!

Re: Will kin be back?
I would argue that Minmax's dalliance with the farmer is more of a one-night stand, rather than a relationship and nowhere near love. Kin is probably the first time he has felt anything more than lust for a person.
Also, wouldn't the Farmer girl be considered evil since she associated with an evil creature?

Re: Will kin be back?
I would argue that a farmer girl pregnant with your child is more important than a snake woman you haven't even kissed and insists that you leave.
Here is the final heartbreaking song from Minmax to Kin, taken from Goblins Comic The Movie digitally enhanced directors cut rerelease: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5hWWe-ts2s
Even after that, Kin made Minmax leave, so she could continue on with her fiendish plot to conquer the world.
Now compare that to his heartfelt love song after sleeping with the farmer girl: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FohCuhQH98w

Re: Will kin be back?
I'll add that after exiting the Maze, Kin would naturally want to secure the Teapot in some way, such as by burying it or finding some Silkscale Yuan-Ti to leave it with (or hell, complete her task by taking it all the way back). That would also cause a delay.Liesmith wrote:One theory that's been bandied about on the forums is that she might stick around in the maze for one or one hundred cycles, then exit (appearing at the entrance to the maze at the same time that the guys appear at the Maw), *then* brew the tea, which would take a little while. I think it would also work out nicely if she ported to Forgath so she'd have a chance to talk to him about Minmax's state of mind before dropping in on MM.ghostwolf wrote:I don't think she'll BAMF into being at any point during the current arc. Since time in the Maze of Many doesn't affect the passage of time outside, if she was going to drink the tea at any point after the boys left, she would have appeared at the same point in time with them, regardless of how long she spent in the maze after they left.
I think MinMax and Kin will meet again at some point in the future, but a considerable amount of time will have passed for both of them.
No evidence for this...I just think it's fun.

If kin was coming back to minmax wouldn't she have appeared at the same moment they appeared? Re: Will kin be back?
That we do not know...
She might actually exit before them, as all we know is that the."candidates" are brought back in time to exact the moment they entered the maze... From there time might run rather normal...
So fast finishers might exit a few hours after they entered, while players who depend on luck (the zombies?) might exit after months.
If the K4 have had enough iterations they might be able to finish within an hour...

Re: Will kin be back?
That doesn't make any sense to me. How can they exit at different times, when they entered at basically the same time? To an outside observer, it should look like they just walked straight through the sword and out the other side.
