The Great Candy War
I do a candy war myself, but with skittles. You take two skittles, and stack them on top of each-other between your thumb and index finger and then press down. One will collapse and shatter making the other one the victor. You devour the loser and proceed to see how long the champion can maintain his reign.

Now, my thoughts (so, read it first already):
I kind of was hoping to end with a human hand reaching in, grabbing stuff, and a crunch...nom-nom-nom... sound in the background.

If only Thunt didn't put a ton of text for this kind of "pseudo update".
If seems that either we have "true" updates with amazing graphics and very little dialog ( but that require too much work for Thunt and hence are delayed ) , or this piece of pointless literature ....

A ton of text? Where? All I see is a little microblog piece of entertainment that probably took a negligible amount of time to create followed by a blog post with a sneak peak for the next comic, which obviously took several hours. Is there any real reason to think that putting this together delayed the comic in any way?

Keeping this up until the Kore mystery is resolved: paladins do not get their powers from deities, and D&D does not operate on subjective morality.

All right, I'm probably too lazy to read this "not so much entertaining story" . Add to this, the fact that English is not my native language, and I'd rather improve it by reading more interesting stuff.YardMeat wrote:A ton of text? Where? The delays are probably because of the complicated graphics , and the depressed mood of Thunt.

I don't find this update interesting either.
I don't like skittles. I'd rather see something with chocolate candy.

Well there were the little chocolate tanks, and the peanut butter cup PEZ personnel carrier.
I have to stop thinking about this thing. I keep craving strawberry PEZ..

I thought it was fun! (though the pills were a little too personal, I think but no big deal, I guess) I like seeing him be creative and productive. I hope he finds more reduced-effort / whimsical ways to entertain us. A non-canon rough sketch from time to time with penciled dialog would probably do it. It'd be a shame if Thunt would enjoy that and most of us would enjoy that but some noisy minority would complain bitterly and argue about time better spent, ruining our fun.

Well, it would be fine if the candies were provided to the readers.Wolfie wrote: Besides, who doesn't like a little war between candy coated delicious enemies?
Otherwise, it's just like "food porn".

I get as antsy for the next update as anyone else but I still love those little "Thunt's thoughts" moments.

Re: The Great Candy War
I - for one - am happy to get posts like this. Shows that he still has a happy, playful self, and he is not afraid to show it to other people too. Yeah, it might not be the greatest post ever, or even on par with the comic, but it is still something. Since it will not be in the archives it does not ruin the "comic experience", it's rather just some funny randomness to gawk at while waiting for the comic.

Re: The Great Candy War
Meh, I'd like it as a tweet, but at the place where the update is supposed to go I find it silly in an unfunny way. Fillers for me are always more annoying than no update, because fillers are always not what you want it to be (an actual update!). It's not a problem, but I cannot say I liked it either.
EDIT: I just noticed that my new avatar of Augusta de Wit makes EVERYTHING I type look judgmental.... I love it!

I feel smart, but I'm pretty sure I'm an idiot.

Only once I enjoyed the filler. It was a poorly drawn parody of his own comic. I can't find it.
