I could be way off but here is a thought. complains is pretty demonic now right? not walter said if you know a demons name you can basically enslave them. When enslaved you can send them to hell as you saw in the maze of many with kin when they fought 32s not walter.

so maybe with complains help they can all go to hell?

Look at the dripping red stuff in the right side of the last panel. It starts directly above Ears.

Ah. No, I don't think that's meant to spell anything. In a similar situation a while back, he erased and redrew part of the panel when someone pointed out that the strands he was drawing spelled something like that, and he was annoyed about it. That kind of hidden message is not his thing.

Look at Max in the final frame. Directly over his head is an incredibly obvious N. That is what first caught my attention because nothing droops down at a direct angle like that. The U over his right shoulder is also very obvious. The two Ts and the H are less obvious until you realize that the crossbars for the Ts are actually along the bar between frames and the crossbar of the H is just below it. IM is directly over Complains and is also pretty obvious. I'll admit I was just guessing about the HI because although it looks like the stuff to the left of I'M is probably forming letters, those letter's are a lot less clear than the I'm Thunt.

...Nah, that'd break our suspension of disbelief. But you're right Rocket, it does look like "Thunt" is just the end of a phrase.

It just occured to me that the staff Fumbles is holding looks a LOT like the staff Alt-Forgath had in the Maze of Many (the one with the many rings and the finger attached to the end of it).

Well, wooden sticks do tend to look like other wooden sticks

Right? And that's about all the resemblance they have. Aegis, have you considered glasses? Or a new monitor/phone/tablet/whatever you're viewing on? They couldn't look much less alike and still both be wooden staves.

I just want to point out that everyone except Ears and Fumbles took part in that fight.

Complains, MinMax, and Thaco immediately work together to defend Ears, without even thinking. Ears does not have to do anything.

That's kind of awesome.

Yes, I was appreciating that, too. Complains and Thaco defending Ears, that's kind of a given, but it's nice to see all three of them spontaneously working together. They're melding into a team.
