"It depends on whether he'd consider himself a slave or not- Guy's simple minded by orc standards, could be that he just loves it and be happy... Right? He does like to cook, doesn't he..?" Ulmwin suddenly questions, realizing that with the guy being afraid of the orc leader, things might not even be that simple.
"On another matter, as to where we go... We might be forced to go back West- Unless Coljin can prepare us some curse removals..? I've a feeling there's at least one or two fellows to the east who would see the marks we received and be rather... Displeased."

Randy sighs and starts sharpening a dagger. It's hard to tell if he's doing this in anticipation, or if he's just doing something to kill time. His face is completely poker faced right now. He's clearly thinking, but not giving any other clues as to what. <<Shrrrrk. Shrrrk. Shrrrk.>>

It's serpentine, but nothing in particular comes to mind. You don't recognize it as belonging to any nation that you're familiar with. The silver is tarnished with age, though the gold is still bright.

"The crevasse housed a serpent man mummy. Entering the place too deep causes you to be marked as a vile intruder for, what I assume, all kinds of serpents. Nothing too bad unless we go into a snake for or city with snake people. Think there might be more burial chambers housing snake folk aspirering to godhood in the east?"

Re: The Sundered Way
To Randy:
"I still want to go east. I've got no desire to spend more time in small towns with temples, but that might be a place where this orc of ours could find work. I don't think he understands Korgal is dead... big cities have libraries, and I have some things I'd like to study for a while. Including this curse..."
Zephyr, can I borrow the amulet you took from Korgal? Who's got his sword?"
She'll take the other amulet from the witch, and pick up Korgals sword and the sword amulet if it's offered.
"Randy, let's go and find our chef. Will you translate for me? We'll come back when this is resolved."
Shell head to the kitchen with Randy and a lantern / torch and Ily.

Maji will follow the orc to the kitchen, looking after the orc chef. He gently taps on the orc's shoulder and waves at him. Maji points to the stew and gives him a thumbs up and a grin.

Dornikal shakes his head a bit at the question, not sure if it's being asked seriously,
"Aye don't know? Probably not? In the south there were a lot of snakes and odd folks. Not many snakes further north and folks weren't as crazy. It's also whisking hot down south, like here but wet."

Re: The Sundered Way
You find the orc busily stirring the cauldron, which has cooled somewhat since Maji moved it to put his pan over the fire. The pan has been knocked to the side. He's tasting the stew and quickly adding other things from various jars and boxes.

Nem touches the orc on the shoulder to get his attention again and shows him Korgal's axe. If he looks confused, she'll point to Randy.

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal turns left rather than the accustomed right, and enters the orc living area. Along the wall to the left there are numerous bedrolls, and there is a 'kitchen' to the right. The orc is busy around a cauldron over a fire, feeding some broken bits of wagon or crate to the fire to stoke it back up a bit. Various boxes and crates line the walls, as well as a some hanging carcasses in various states of desiccation and butchery.
Three seem to be horses... but the last two... the last two are humanoid. One human sized, and the other larger and mostly used up...
The orc grabs his cleaver and hurries over to one of the horses, carving off some chunks that he plops into the stew before tasting it.
"Hurm, hur, hurr."
Tess and Maji get his attention and he hurriedly fills a pair of bowls and presents them to them.
"Hurr? Hurr hurm?"

Nem smiles at him and takes the bowl, but doesn't eat it.
"Thank you. Randy, will you also ask him if he likes it here? I expect this conversation will take a while, but he's clearly not violent."

Randy puts up his dagger and follows the others to the kitchen. He turns his lantern up a bit so that his face is clearly visible. He then gets the cook's attention. He speaks slowly and enunciates very clearly:

Re: The Sundered Way
Dornikal stops when he sees the bodies on the meat hooks. He stands silent and still for a several seconds and has completely forgotten what Tess is up to.
He approaches both of the corpses, first the humanoid,
"Jhon?"
Before turning and looking at the giantiod corpse,
"Benjo?"
He checks them both for things that would identify them but his tears prevent him from seeing anything.
Benjo and Jhon?: 2D20.LOW(1) = [1, 6] = 1

Seeing Dornikal, she says:
"No, love. It's horse meat, and just an orc ...sorry, we saw them before and should have warned you."
