Double post, but, this would be an inconvenient week to discover there's also an eldritch cult setting up in these sewers.SuperVaderMan wrote: ↑Fri Jul 13, 2018 10:41 am "There better not be, the kobolds're supposed to be keepin' things runnin' smooth down here," Veska grumbles, not able to discern what this pile of meat was supposed to be pre-rat feast. She can't help but wonder, if the rats got this bad, what else aren't the kobolds up here taking care of?

Did we not have a google doc somewhere with plans and options?

Yeah, here. As to be expected though it got used once and then immediately fell into disuse, but feel free to use it for whatever (Maybe add it to the first page..?)

Re: The Heist - OOC
Just to clarify: the lump of meat and bone is only big enough to account for one arm, from the elbow to the finger tips. And all of the skin/most of the flesh has been gnawed away by the rats - there's even a couple of fingers missing. The rest of the body is nowhere to be seen.

Re: The Heist - OOC
Ooohh, OK, so the arm's owner could very well still be alive somewhere (or the body's been scattered about).
I don't think that changes any of Veska's actions, though.

Well then there'd be a skeleton, and the meat would be gone long before they did away with the bones, if the rats even bothered

Re: The Heist - OOC
I mean, not conclusively... There's the whole story that if you feed pigs a human corpse they'll eat it all, bone included (not sure how much of that is true)... And if you extrapolate that to actual fantasy giant rats, and their appetite when smaller, it's not unreasonable to think they could just have gotten most of it already... I don't think it's unlikely though.

Re: The Heist - OOC
My skepticism comes from the idea that they would even touch the bones much when there's still meaty bits somewhere. If they would go for the bones after the meat's all gone, who's to say, but before that, I doubt it.

Re: The Heist - OOC
Yeah, I do agree that if there was a whole corpse dumped down there, there probably would have been more left than an arm. Just saying I don't think the probability is nil, either.
Anyways, if Veska wants to pursue this investigation, don't mind Uragh. He'll follow along as long as there's no risk to being discovered, and it probably leads somewhere interesting.

So the centipede is up on a ledge, out of melee reach?

Re: The Heist - OOC
Oh right, sorry.
The chamber has a 20x20ft square floor, and is 40ft tall. There are eight 10x10ft tunnels leading into it, two on each wall, one upper and one lower. If you guys entered through the lower-south tunnel, then the centipede is on a ledge by the south-side of the upper-east tunnel, about 20ft off the ground.
If you're thinking of climbing, the walls aren't perfectly smooth - there are lots of loose bricks and cracks that would make good handholds. Everything's damp though, so it wouldn't be an easy climb.

Thinks, what's our play here? We want to run a "I'm my uncle's sole heir, I wanted to have a look at security measures?", or is that too forward?

Re: The Heist - OOC
That was largely the plan so far yes. Maybe take the persuasive approach and see where we get. We should also check l out stuff like the numbers of guards, what the layouts like, if there's any magic devices they'll tell us about... That kind of thing.

Re: The Heist - OOC
Max distance you can go and still have line-of-sight is 40ft from it, Vader (you'd be on the opposite side of the chamber). If you want to go further you'll have to go down a tunnel, and that would put it out of your vision.
Of course, you could always attack then move instead, if you wanted?

Hmm, could I climb up to the upper tunnel opposite the centipede with my 40 feet of movement? I have the Gloves of Swimming and Climbing, so no halved movement from climbing.

Re: The Heist - OOC
I'd need an Athletics check, but sure.
Also Mort, Uragh is still in the tunnel Veska came out of. He can't see the creature - he only knows that Veska is swearing and shooting at something. On the flip side though, it's likely that the creature doesn't know he's there yet either. Also still gonna need an Initiative check

You already- Oh, I forgot to paste it in, it appears...
It was a whopping 1, for a total initiative of 4.
(Just so you're aware though, he can't be surprised. Weapon of warning. )

Wait, double post, but that reminds me... I have advantage on initiative checks because of that, huh?
initiative: 1D20+3 = [10]+3 = 13
initiative: 1D20+3 = [10]+3 = 13

You should be able to, yeah. They have a range of 20/60, and they're Finesse weapons so you can even apply your Sneak Attack damage. Also I don't think it knows you're there? Idk if that gives you Advantage or not.M0rtimer wrote: (So, what are Uragh's options for hitting it from range..? Could he try throwing one of his daggers?)
