Re: The Heist - OOC
Hmm, would a normal pace cut any of those times in half?
My thoughts are:
- We Stealth our way to the Den to pick up Barusk and whoever he's bringing
- We travel at a normal pace to Rezak's last stand specifically to draw attention to ourselves
-- We'll be at our strongest to deal with whatever comes at us, and doing so will clear the area of Crawlers some as well as draw attention away from the Den now that it has fewer defenders.
-- After the fight we use the spare time we got from not Stealthing to heal up and search for Rezak's boots
- Finally we go back to Stealth to approach the Maw.

Re: The Heist - OOC
Normal pace would cut the time by a third, Fast would cut it in half, but give you the -5 Perception. So it would look like this;
Den (Slow): 10 minutes
Rezak (Normal/Fast): 6.66 (or 5) minutes
Maw (Slow): 15 minutes
Basically, you'd save at best 5 minutes. Which could make all the difference, but that's your call to make.
If you did the entire thing Fast, it would only take you 17.5 minutes total. But again, no Stealth plus -5 Per...

@Spider: Lights are still on, yes. What looks like some lamp-light on the upper floor, and at the back of the main hall.

Here's where he mentioned Eris, and here's where he said Erin. Note that Eris was definitely there the the first time, but when he said Erin the only ones present where Barric and the vault guards.thinkslogically wrote: ↑Sat Aug 04, 2018 12:54 pm ((The manager called one Erin and one Eris I think - did that not happen in their presence both times? Either way, this is weird. Any back alleys or anything here? What sort of buildings are we looking at in this neighbourhood and what's the foot traffic like?))
The buildings are small terraced houses, lining either side of the road. So numbers 9 and 11 are attached to each other. The street's pretty quiet too, not much happening since it's later in the evening. You don't know what's on the other side of them, but you could always go check it out.

((ok cool, that makes sense.))
Jax will continue past the house, and see if he can find a legit way round to the back of the terrace (i.e. no jumping over fences or that!). He'll pay attention to if any lights come on inside no. 11 or number 9.

Re: The Heist - OOC
Need Perception checks from Uragh and Vatro.
@Thinks: The houses are two storey. Kinda like these, but not nearly as run-down.
@Spider: It's twilight, so Dim Light levels. There are still guards stationed at the front, but you could probably creep around the side and peer through a ground-floor window if you were quiet.

I just calculated for buying all the acid materials right away since I won't be able to use it before I finish itDusk9 wrote: ↑Fri Aug 03, 2018 9:04 am ...derp, yes. Sorry, don't know why I thought it was 97.5gp. I'm going to blame it on lack of sleep
By my calculations it should be 50gp spent though?
15 (beer) + 20 (snaps) + 55 (wine) + 10 (acid) = 100gp /2 = 50gp?
Plus 5gp for that mirror, if you want it. And 40gp for the Protection from Poison casting.

You have another attack if you want it, Theis. Extra Attack gives you 2x regular attacks, plus Martial Arts for an unarmed strike Bonus Action.

Are you attacking the second Crawler, Vader? If so I'll need a Per roll from you.

Re: The Heist - OOC
But I already got a crit to notice that it's there...?
Perception check on drooling Crawler (Natural Explorer): 1D20+6 = [1]+6 = 7
Well there's another to magically unsee it

Re: The Heist - OOC
You know it's there. This roll was to get a good angle on it without standing directly below, as it's 5ft up the vertical tunnel.
Now, I thought it would give you Disadvantage on your Ranged attacks because you would be within it's 10ft reach. But I just double-checked the Ranged rules, and that only applies to 5ft melee specifically, not total attack range. So it's not actually as bad as I thought it would be
(You're still within it's attack range now though, so watch out for AoOs )

Does Uragh have a clear path to the crawler that came from behind? And would it be flanked for advantage or be up for the swashbuckler advantage?

Re: The Heist - OOC
It's right next to you - only the head is sticking out of the tunnel right now. And Vatro is within 5ft of it too, so regular Sneak Attack rules apply.
No Advantage though. I'm probably not going to do Flanking rules, since that requires too much effort in keeping track of people's positions

Crits double ALL damage die, Mort. So you can get an extra 2d6 from the sneak attack.

Re: The Heist - OOC
I do?! Well, not gonna complain. though, are you sure that's how it works?
extra crit: 2D6 = [2, 3] = 5
(Now if only I could actually roll just a bit better... )

Re: The Heist - OOC
It works for Paladin's Divine Smite as well. And since you can technically decide damage rolls after attack rolls, you can even save your sneak attack/smite for your crits toopg196 wrote:"When you score a critical hit, you get to roll extra dice for the attack’s damage against the target. Roll all of the attack’s damage dice twice and add them together. [...] If the attack involves other damage dice, such as from the rogue’s Sneak Attack feature, you roll those dice twice as well."

Is it too late to claim I forgot? I mean, originally I didn't want to expecting us to meet some more crawlers soonish but I would have done it once I realized we were practically hitting the evening already

I think Vatro is the only one with a high enough passive perception
