I generally play it by ear. If it's just a handful of people, I'll have it apply individually like normal checks (such as when Veska and Uragh first met a Crawler, and he remained hidden while she got spotted). But for bigger groups then yeah, I'll work it out as an average.

Does Veska see anything odd about the meat pile? She critted her perception coming here, but I'm not sure if this is what that was for.

She's specifically looking for a part of the Maw that might be poking out, whatever it looks like. She remembers Kerash saying something about a 'stalk'.

How much does Vatro know about otyoughs?

Vatro knowledge: 1D20 = [13] = 13

Also rolled below average perception so he won't see it more than before :p

Sorry, that first Perception was just for the journey, to see whether you heard any Crawlers sneaking up on you.

You'll need another Per check for examining the carrion hill from a distance. The other two can roll it as well, though.

Judging by the vague description Veska gave, Vatro knows jack-shit about what they're facing  :P

Perception on meat pile (Natural Explorer): 1D20+6 = [4]+6 = 10

Nah. Unless it has to roll stealth against that? :shifty:

Hmm, if no one can see it can Veska make a Stealth check to hide, get closer, and make another Perception check? On page 177 under Hiding, it says you can hide at any point in time if you're invisible.

Hiding again is fine, but I'll need you to get within about...lets say 10ft before you can search again.

And the Maw will obviously get a chance to spot you, too :P

Question, do I get to choose which of my 3 attacks I can apply the 1d8 Dread Ambusher damage bonus to, like how paladins get to choose? I'm asking since Veska got a crit on one of her attacks :shifty:

I'm going to saw no, since the Dread Ambusher bonus damage is tied specifically to an attack roll. The exact wording is;
"If you take the Attack action on that turn, you can make one additional weapon attack as part of that action. If that attack hits, the target takes an extra 1d8 damage of the weapon's damage type."
So it only applies to the third attack, as your first two attacks are part of your Extra Attack feat. While Sneak Attack and Divine Smite can be tied to any attacks that meet their requirements.

Also, can I have initiative rolls from everyone?

Also, how many spell slots have you spent today Vader? By my count you've done at least 2 Disguise Self's, 2 Hunter's Marks (including this one), and 1 Healing Spirit?

That's correct! She only has one 2nd level spell left.

Also I added in initiative and damage to my post. I think doing almost 50 damage on my first turn is pretty good

So....I've just realised that I've been doing Darkness a little wrong. Specifically, Perception checks in Darkness for creatures with Darkvision. To summarise, Darkvision makes Total Darkness equal Dim Light instead. Except Dim Light still provides Disadvantage on sight-based Perception checks...

I'm not going to retcon anything, since that would be mean to you guys. But I'm just letting you know that, from now on, I'll be giving Disadvantage to vision checks in the dark.

Also a bit late and it wouldn't have mattered, but wouldn't Uragh's weapon of warning have notified him about the crawler ambush earlier? :P

That's only for vision-based checks, right? I think you've been flavoring it so that we've mostly been hearing stuff coming, anyway.

Yeah, but that would definitely apply to you searching for the Maw in the meat pile.

@Spider: It looks like there's some light in the area, but you can't tell where exactly it's coming from. It's hard to make out details at this distance.
