They were totally.

They were the heroes of the commoners but kept pissing off the royals.

Like when we saved a country by burning down their forest... Which stretched across the entire country.

The new group I'm DM'ing have been pretty low on rp so far as I've focused more on small quests where they could learn the rules and what their characters can do.

Might have been a bad idea as last time we played, they tried to console a newly widowed woman failing utterly, even before the dice were thrown. Led to them calling themselves the awkward adventurers though :P

If you are that desperate to be a part of the name, then fine! Fits really well since Ulmwin STINKS and no one would acknowledge they are with him! :glare:

Yeah, well Randy knows that Holger is a bit of a Prima Donna and that he would never hear the end of it if he didn't at least throw him a bone. :chuckle: Seemed appropriate for other reasons as well.

I think "Heavy" may not be the best word for it, but it is easier than "Cumbersome" or "Unwieldy". If we look at the weapons that do have the "Heavy" tag, we have:

Glaive, Greatsword and Halberd = each 6lbs and slashing damage

Greataxe = 7lb and slashing

Maul = 10 lb. and bludgeoning

Pike = 18 lb and piercing

So, at least there are no other 6lb piercing weapons that fall into the "Heavy" tag, the four at that weight are all slashing damage, and would need to be swung in an arc to hit. A lance would be balanced much closer to the hand, and not nearly as heavy as the 18lb pike (the only other piercing). Lances also have the additional limit of not being much use at close range, and being harder to use while not mounted.

Another oddball is the greatclub, which is a two-handed, 10 lb bludgeoner, but is not considered heavy.

Also, heavy crossbows and longbows are both "Heavy", though the longbow only weighs 2 lbs... so again, think it's a case of using the simple word to convey the concept.

PC strength and carry weight already gets a little bonkers, and you end up with the Mighty Mouse characters, so what's a little more bendy physics among friends?

For example, Randy's carry weight is 165lbs, or 84.6% of his body weight.

Coljin's is 210 lb, or 525% of his body weight.

To be fair, with such high insight, shouldn't the guy be aware we had no idea we'd be finding the artifact down there? :P (I mean, I don't think we did, right?)

He's aware that it isn't the worthless trinket you rather he considered it, that you've been looking for it, and that you found it down there, presumably pocketed it, without mentioning it to anyone before springing it on him here as part of a series of prying questions.

Basically confirming everything he likes least about dealing folks of your sort.

I don't think Dornikal even knows that Tess took it though.

Zokk is just confused why the commander is upset about a shiny thing.

He knows it's not worthless which means he likely knows about what happened to her (what's her name?) and how it likely how it ended up in the sewer.

Dornikal knows the commander knows something and he has repeatedly focused in on the trinket rather than the murdered girl.

Dornikal knows who has the orb, he passed it to Tess.

Almost like he'd rather find something to get angry at the dwarf about instead of continue this conversation... Since no one budged when he tried to dismiss you earlier...

At this point I think it is pretty obvious, even to Anders.

Yeah, something's fishy. But best thing for now to do is to seem polite, and we'll burn down the entire guard hq later.

...What, overkill?

Anders likes and respects you guys, but he's not willing to step in between you and the Commander beyond his minor attempts to smooth things and hurry you out of here.

We should probably decide if all these loose hooks are something we want to pursue. And if so, if we want to try and employ Anders into helping us...

Or... You could kidnap and torture the commander to find out what he's hiding. Ahem.. Or perhaps some blackmail or espionage

I mean, those are options under figuring out what is going on, but we should figure out first if that is something we even want to do in the first place before we start planning how :P (And also should probably do that Ic but yeah)

Here's a question...
If the mages guild is in on it... And they know you've been poking around. Especially since Tess showed it to them. Perhaps they don't send you where you want to go and try to kill you.

I get that I just came back.. But I say you hightail it out of town before this group starts sending up ded

Yes, I've presented you with multiple things you CAN do while you're on this side of the continent.

If by few he means 3, the Kreldoran should be reaching out mid-afternoon tomorrow. So you do have a free day to pursue or avoid any hooks you'd like. I mean, I suppose you could tell him you're still looking into things if you want more time.
