@Quarg @ThepersonformerlyknowasBurns

Are you two done with the investigation? If so I can wrap that up and you can just wait for the rest of the crew to arrive?

Sorry IRL has been sort of distracting...

Apparently someone hired Louis Carrol and Kafka to create an org plan...and I get to try and figure out how to navigate it...

Joe thinks the dwarf is innocent, so no questions from her. Maybe the other lady? Sorry I am probably going to be busy with school stuff

No worries. The other young human girl? You want to check in with her?

Congrats...you've made the clues so hard that this is going to become a cold case.... ;)

I think it was more that the clues have been given out over a 6+ month period.

Honestly thought you'd get it.

Any guesses from any of the others before I wrap it up?

I have to admit I was not watching their quest super close. But I have no idea.

Haven't been reading their side, so I'm going to say... It was the butler in the kitchen with a wrench.
My game:
Hunters of Letrua; Character list
Also Player / Monster stats, skill lists.

My characters:
Tugs Tails, the goblin that was sort of a trapper and wears a bear's tail at his neck, for some reason - Lair of the Mountain King (Run by Thinks)
Alex Sparo, A city boy, poor of sight, who has learned to manipulate people and make the most of what he, and others, have - Trinity Isles (Run by Mort)
Mehriv Turajin, a Noble Dragonborn Sorcerer sent from his clan because he wasn't dragony enough. - The Wandering Archipelago (Run by Thinks)

Burns has the most information and was the most engaged so I'm curious to see if they have a guess.

I created the mystery without a paladin in mind and Cary had a couple of skills she could have used to make it easier to solve. Zone of truth would have made it even easier!

It wasn't the butler, though that is always a solid guess!

Yeah, I started skimming things after they'd done the initial round of interviews.

Hmm. I don’t think it was any of them. The trapper thinks ot was an intellegent creature, maybe a lizard. The claw marks also did not do her in. But that would be difficult to sneak in. She also had magic in her blood, which I am not sure ot killed her?

So here is my best guess: she was cursed for a good while, which is why she had magic in her blood. She passed away from the curse/natural causes. I am not sure about the claw marks, maybe from the curse?

My next best guess was some sort of lycanthrope?

Good points and you're right. Though it was someone you've talked to and was the only one that avoided your clever use of detect magic. I'll wrap it up tonight.

@Quarg, it started before you did and some of the clues came early, so probably. At one point I thought you had it!

....so it was the pregnant woman? She was one that avoided the detect magic. But it makes no sense...It was implied she was heavily pregnant. So it would be difficult/impossible for her to make those marks, even if she was lycanthrope.

In all my years playing DND and I don't think I've had a character fight a troll.

Welp... hopefully Kroshav gets revived, and hopefully we can rescue Lurn before they graft a troll arm to him.

And hopefully someone knows more about troll fighting than he does, a single use fire breath and a couple torches that do 1 fire damage aren't gonna cut it!

Fighting trolls without an attack mage (wizard/sorcerer/maybe-warlock-I-dunno) = probable death. You've got to have lit torches ready (thankfully we did) and have the action economy for someone to be doing that 1 damage to prevent regen. And unfortunately D&D doesn't really allow for running away once you're in melee.

I'd initially thought I might be able to help some with fire, but turns out Sacred Flame is more sacred than flame (does Radiant damage).

Had Kroshav remembered more about trolls, we would have been in much better shape...

I'm allowing torches to be 1d4 and the 1 fire damage. Not that it matters because the soldier never managed to hit...
