Re: I like books.
Camping isn't a problem. One of the times I went camping, I took about 7 books with me, most of them hardback. The only reason it wasn't more is because it wasn't a long trip.

I generally go for anywhere from 3-7 days. That's enough time for 2-3 books. It just gets to be convenient.SamWiser wrote:Camping isn't a problem. One of the times I went camping, I took about 7 books with me, most of them hardback. The only reason it wasn't more is because it wasn't a long trip.

Re: I like books.
When camping I always bring a book for the road (assuming I am not the one driving) but I rarely read during camping trips, so while that would be nice to have for some, not nessisarily for me. But we could continue going on like this for quite a while with no resolution.
Anyone here read Michael Crichton? Just finished up his book "Sphere" again.

Re: I like books.
I own a kindle. I will read things on it, but I mostly seem to enjoy it for classics and thigns I didn't have to pay for.
If I am going to spend the money on a book, I'd rather it be the actual book.
And when I'm on holiday I have this nasty (and lovely) habit of wandering into local bookstores and finding the section with books in English. Then I like to find somewhat local authors and try something new.
I bring my kindle with me on every holiday... and totally ignore it. Poor neglected kindle! I do think it'd be a great thing for a camping trip where I have no access to a book store though!

The fun thing about where we go camping, though, is they used to have a lending library -- you know, take one, leave one.
But they had to shut it down for moving stuff around and remodeling.
lingrem, BookBub and Pixel of Ink advertise free books. I've yet to actually buy an e-book.

Anyone here read Cassandra Clare, her books are aimed at a younger audience but I enjoyed them. Just finished reading her latest book a few minutes ago.

Re: I like books.
Previously in this thread I've mentioned I'm working on acquiring an epic bookshelf. Well, after a couple of months of buying and reading books (and moving in with my book-loving soon-to-be-wife) I am closer to this goal. Take a look at this photo I've taken of our bookshelf. There is still free space behind those books and two empty standalone bookshelves.
