Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
Senor sneaks into the kitchen looking for stuff to wear, but he only finds food.
"Sorry Senor! If you want gear you're going to have to adventure for it or wait for a trader to visit. We don't see them too often, but the boss hopes that we'll start seeing them more regularly now there's an Adventurer's League here. In the meantime I can sell you beer or you can help yourself in the kitchen, but that's about it I'm afraid."

Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
A new yellow skinned goblin arrives at the GAL bar looking ragged from his travels. He heads to the bar and enquirers about joining the Guild as he bumped into 4 goblins on route who told him about whats going on and it sounded a good option for him for now. After making small talk and joining he looks to the other patrons/guildies and as he is mid way through saying a greeting he spots a fellow member from his tribe.
"Hello all....... and hello All didn't expect to see you here."

" Yep, Gotta give something new a try, the tribe didn't find my skills useful at the moment, but one of the books I copied had a section on adventuring and i mostly remember it. How did you end up here?

"Well I wandered from tribe to tribe looking for goblins who could teach me to fly. I wandered to one tribe who offered to teach me "spirit flight." After that I don't really remember much but I woke up a little way from here and decided to come hang out."

His conversation interrupted perhaps by an misdirected question Forges turns to the new goblin with a smile on his face.
"I may have passed through that tribe you speak of, lots of plants and mushroom in that tribe right, Anyway nice to meet you my name is Forges; what's yours? If you haven't been introduced yet this is All and shes from the same tribe as me, we knew each other as younglings.

"Hay, anyone up for a drinking game?
I was thinking like; If you can't drink up, you must spin 10 times on the spot and then drink a new... If you DO drink up, you must spin 12 times on the spot and then drink something else!!!
What do you say friends?"

Taking a moment, schnitzel wipes off a chair before claiming it as his own. He then gently seats himself and takes out several dice. "Anyone up for a game of highest roller? I will officiate and take .1 gold from the winners stash." Schitzel begins to roll the die across the rough wooden table. "The rules are simple, allow me to explain."

"Well, I'm not allowed to drink while I'm on duty, but I've got a few gold to spend on dice! I'll play, though 0.1GP is a fairly high reward for you is it not? ...This isn't some get-rich-quick scam you're pulling is it?"
The Barman has 10GP same as the rest of you, and bets 0.2GP on the first game.

I'd be willing to play with one slight change. We bet .5 gold on the roll that way your only taking 1/10 the pot not 1/4. If this change is agreed on hell lay down .5 gold as his bet.

Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
Schnitzel rubs his chin a bit at the revised rules. "I will make a small change, I will only take 1 gold from the winning pot is at least 10 gold, or we can raise the stakes to .5 gold, I was trying to make it less expensive for the players." Schitzel smiles a toothy grin.
(meaning if 5 people play, he gets 1 gold)

Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
[OOC: You'll probably get more players if the odds are a little more evenly stacked in the player's favour - so taking 1GP from a pot of 10GP+ is fairer than taking half the winnings from every game. Not that you shouldn't get an incentive to win, but you could stack the odds a little more subtly For example, you could run it a bit like a craps game with different payouts for different dice rolls? you might need to bankroll it a bit if the early players get really lucky, but the House will eventually always win if you get the odds right ]

Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
Schitzel pulls two 20 sided dice from a small pouch on his belt and puts each of them on a plate that he found while scrounging in the kitchen. He then marks each plate to indicate whose is whose. Schnitzel takes the gold supplied from the players and piles it in the center of the table, he then rolls each die.
On Soars plate = 19
On the Barkeeps Plate = 8
"touch luck barkeep, the winner here is soars"
Schitzel counts out .9 gold and gives it to soars and takes .1 for himself.

"Well, shit. You know, it's rolls like those that forced me to retire from adventuring! Good to know I should continue to stick to bartending. Ah well."

Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
"Hey, I have a game like that we can all play. I got these little pieces of hard parchment from a human trader, and he taught me a game. You try and get more numbers than the dealer, but not too many numbers. If you win, you get double your money back. We can take it in turns to be the dealer. I'll go first if you want?"
All will try and get a game of blackjack going.
(I have a mini deck of cards that I carry, I can deal games out at work)

"Ok, I deal us each two cards. Then you say if you want more cards. You can't have more than 21 total and neither can I. When you are done getting cards, I get mine. Then the highest wins. I win on a draw. Anyone else want to play before I deal?"

Re: The Goblin Adventurer's League (RP / OOC thread)
Could I play multiple hands?
(OOC: Also it might be a good idea to get a third party to handle the cards soas the one potentially winning isnt the only one seeing the actual cards )

Schnitzel eyes the goblin that brings out the deck of cards before sitting down at the table. "I'm in, but no fast stuff dealer" Schnitzel gives the goblin a stern eye.
