There was that analysis of intention and action morality, and the assumption that Psimax is Good by intention morality.
I agree with the analysis, but not with Psimax' categorization. He claims he's good, but that's just rationalization - removing everybody else in the maze from existence, with or without their consent (and actually against their declared will) is evil incarnate. His arguments that it's okay to do as he's trying to are just weaselling around that, and don't hold water.

Given that the Maze can bring every group to the time they started when they die, it is not unreasonable that 'spare' groups are held in suspension until a spot frees up.
The Maze exists outside of time and space. It touches an infinite number of parallel universes. And it resets time at the end of every run. Our FMK have been there for over a million days (nearly 3000 years), but when they exit, it will be at about the time they left. Time is irrelevant here. There is no waiting room.

(Though it does make me wonder how Psimax is able to perfectly know everything that could happen in the Maze when there's at least one new group in every run. Okay, not necessarily every run. But just about.)
willpell wrote:How the hell do you shackle a snake anyhow? I would think Kin would just flex and stretch her tail until it wiggled free; the only way I could see a loop of metal holding a serpentine body would be if it had spikes embedded in the flesh or something.
Depends on how much she can flex her tail and how tight the shackle is. Or, you know, it could be imbued with some minor adhesive magic.

A yuan-ti with legs.
Ah, but the anymug can't create ANYTHING magical. That's why they had to fill it with potion instead of just conjuring it up.

We know Kin is really intelligent. Maybe she could invent memory foam or something.

That's not really debate but more "I define you to be wrong", which basically boils down to stating your opinion, the only conclusion we can arrive at is different people have different opinions, the previous argument was a more interesting analysis of morality than yours.

So is this where Kin decides to take a level in wizard? her Yuan-ti abilities may be supressed, but nothing's keeping her from taking class levels (We've seen at least one Kin with levels in a spellcaster class, and who knows, she may manifest that dragonmark from archerkin as her level 1 feat...)

Somewhere else, the tea is getting Cold. C'mon Ace, we've got work to do! - The Doctor (Sylvester McCoy, last line in the old series)

I thought this might be relevant:
http://www.goblinscomic.com/05132011/

If Grem thought that K'seliss could grow his limbs back, is it possible that this is foreshadowing that another semireptilian race can, in fact, do so?
The Viper clan doesn't seem to be very well-informed about other races than goblins, so perhaps Grem confused K'seliss with a Yuan-ti.
This is probably very wishful thinking, but given the incredibly high level of continuity in the comic, it might not be altogether far-fetched.

According to some others that have researched it, Yuan-ti have the ability to regrow limbs. Unfortunately that is one of her natural Yuan-ti abilities and those are being oppressed by the collar. It might happen eventually, but not now.

I've looked online, and the sites that claim that tend to show Yuan-ti as being reptilian on both halves, so they may not apply to Kin.

A 7-HD Yuan-Ti Halfblood (or for that matter a 4-HD Purebreed) doesn't get a feat when taking its first class level, apart from bonus feats (and the only classes I can think of which give any real choice of a bonus feat are Fighter, Psion/Erudite, and Psychic Warrior). Kin would get her next normal feat when she reaches 9 HD, which would require two class levels (and a total ECL of 14, which is one above the level Fogath would need to be in order to cast Regenerate anyway). If she somehow counts as only a Purebreed despite having a snake tail, she might be "only" ECL 6 at the moment, but she'd need to pack on two more class levels to get her HD to a multiple of 3 and gain another "anything you choose" feat. With MM and Foghelmet still at level 3 (and thus ECL 3), she's not going to be matching their level gains anytime soon.

Well the Silkscales are Thunt's invention, and appear to be a natural species, not magic-spawned aberrations, so a lot of things may be different.

Unless she just lied and is actually a deep-cover agent of Evil...since it's not as if deception is a tool in Evil's arsenal, particularly fitting for Chaotic evil beings such as Merrshaulk, the Yuan-Ti god. After all, we have at least one god from the official pantheon (Maglubiyet), and thus the assumption that everything is RAW unless proven otherwise still applies; it's possible the Yuan-Ti in Thuntworld are exactly what they were in EGG's original Greyhawk, except that they hide it better.

(No, Kore has not hacked my account; I'm just playing devil's advocate. I'm pretty sure this isn't true either of Kin or of her people, but it has to be considered as a possibility...especially since it would give a damn good excuse for the Serpent to become their prey.)

When I read that, I suddenly had the mental image of Psimax tearing off Kin's mask to reveal she was Old Man Goblinslayer all along! And he would've gotten away with it, too, if it weren't for these meddling adventurers!

Setting aside trivialities for the moment:

What is the yellow liquid being poured in the treasure room?

My first thought was "liquid gold!" - but what would be the point, unless it's a final trap and that statue animates to knock the hapless winners into it?
Liquid gold would also make it hellishly hot in the treasure room.

My second and far more likely guess - cheese fondue for the winners' party! :)

I had the same thought last month. Gold and cheese fondue were my guesses, as well. I asked Thunt about it on Twitter. He said it's mudhoney. The same stuff which coats sexy naked female goblins in Tempts Fate 4 and Dies Horribly's dreams.

I now predict that whoever says "remember me, Names?" arrives covered in mudhoney, and even in the midst of fleeing for their lives, the goblins (or at least Fumbles) do a double-take for a moment because of this.

(Wonder if the speaker might be Kin? Perhaps she gets some sort of mudhoney prosthesis to replace her tail?)

I've already accepted that she has died so all I can see is pleasant surprises the longer she lives.
