I saw that, Glemp, but even Thunt is not GRRM. He wouldn't kill Kin off in such a way. Plus, I think Minmax would have been too devastated after this to go after the GAP right away ( and I think that we all agree that "Remember me, Names" phrase was said by Minmax)

Right? Liesmith does that to me all the time with OMWF.

But Thunt is a Joss Whedon fan.

Well, Thunt and Joss are similar because they come from the same circle of Hell - namely, one that feeds off of sadness. It's quite ingenious really - they first construct an artificial character and get you to invest your emotions into it, like a fish bait. Then they kill it off, destroying your ability to control yourself and letting those delicious tears flow.

Didn't read the whole comment section through, but I find the similarity of the keys also interesting. Nice catch!

In my defense, we discuss having theories quite often on this forum...and every time I say I have one, I get the mental image of Giles whipping his glasses off in sudden revelation.

In this case, it could be monsters; some evil monsters...
*Kin glares angrily*
...which is ridiculous 'cause monsters, they were persecuted; goblins good and yuan-ti power and I'll be over here. :paranoia:

Wasnt it Xander who sang that line?

I'm pretty sure is was Castiel.

Hello,
I don't know if it's been mention as such, but when you are talking about the key that winks, if the key only has one eye, is it blinking or winking? Could they have to get both keys together to see which one winks, or put one of the keys up to their eyes and wink?

I highly doubt anything like this would happen in the comic though, but I thought I'd mention it, lol.

In my opinion we should focus on the shadow at the bottom of the door, under the keyhole. It was previously pointed out and mentioned that it has to have some significance. Also, Thunt likes to do such tricks (for instance in later parts of Tempts Fate)

(Yes, it was Xander.)

And don't worry about it. I'm sure I've done the same to you more than once. ;)

"Touch her again and I'll kill you twice."

Also, the key doesn't have an eyelid so it can't wink or blink. Or at least we haven't seen it with an eyelid. Though I suppose there's a trick to it.

Key that winks is, in my opinion just a descriptor for it.
To help differentiate it from the other two in a way that rhymes and sounds poetic.

We see no way that the "key that bites" could open its mouth and bite the person holding it.
So there is no reason you the yellow key to actually be able to physically wink.

And now it's been destroyed, so you can't be proven wrong. How convenient...

Probably Kin tells everything about Minmax and Psimax decides to teleport there. So we will be back to epic battle scene, which has proven to be time consuming.

Weird random theory here. What if the three keys are NOT for the door, but just for the tower room. Ie they have no purpose but to either raise the column or close the mouth and that is IT? *ponders*

yah, this update, labeled 23d, was postend the 24th, and when the next update arrives it will be labeled the 26th :P
I tried labeling one with the actual post date, but that just made everyone annoyed and confused

Likely because the rules state to label it with the Tuesday or Friday.

They also say to put the link in the first post, which no one seems to do...

In addition to the fact that you also need TWO eyes to wink. 'Cause otherwise you're just blinking. ;)

Psimax stops gaining exp from 3rd level challenges at 11th level, so that's probably about where he is. Destroying the keys probably makes them reform back in the tower room, to ensure someone can finish the level each run. So we should expect a flood of characters to enter the room really soon. When they arrive they will start a huge fight with psimax, and after he wipes them out he'll have to deal with minmax. psimax can't disarm minmax, that's really going to bother him. i think that shadow on the floor is the 4th key, the one that opens the door. should be a huge fight, with all the other teams racing for the finish only to find psimax and a locked door.

Doesn't the CR of a battle go up if there are more enemies? If so, he could have farmed the Tower room for dozens of runs with a CR arbitrarily high, depending on how many enemies he takes on simultaneously.
