He clearly stated that it was: self-inflicted pre-super villain insanity.
I mentioned stress from deadlines as an example of a possible cause, but we do not know anything.
And since there are very few case-studies with a negative outcome for his condition, we can only hope for the best.
Or does anyone have experience with preventing post-super villain insanity?
nikohl wrote:Do I need to go re-read those tweets? Did he actually say supervillain insanity? Because that is Awesome.
Yes he did.

And yes, the point of my post was to take some fuel out of the fire. Not to much mind you, i like discussion.

I clearly skimmed over Supervillain Insanity when I read over the thing. That made me smile! I hope that gave Thunt a little smile when he was writing it as well. A tiny amount of humour can help, I suppose.

He should delay another week or so, then claim it was all an April Fool's prank, and his journey to the dark side will be complete.

I don't think that picture he showed suggests that this is a prank. If it is, that would be a first. Not to mention an awful risk, seeing how he makes money from the comic, and a prolonged absence will eventually cause it fail.

The only answer. There's no shame in it. Unless you're trying to get Kony.

Some people crack, some people turn to crack. Hope his wife and kid are ok and that he skipped the Jeph Jacques, "I'm drinking and I'm gonna put a knife through my hand" school of web comics.

Edit: I verified the Jeph Jacques joke in case I was misremembering. In the process I found Jacques made his own ED page. I love a good sport. :stab:

Just dropped in for status. My guess a week ago seems to have hit the mark pretty squarely.

So... the sigil continues? Massive outpouring of sympathy and good wishes while yet more promises are missed?

Or did I miss something and we got more than "yeah, stuff happened and I still can't quite deal with it. But soon! Soon!"?

A good news for those who wait for Goblins: Alternative realities card game. I've just received a message from Kickstarter, confirming that the process still continues:

"This one is short and to the point. I know you are wondering about the game. It's not ready yet. I'm looking at getting another crack at playtesting it in the next few weeks. If all goes well with this (keep your fingers crossed) Rich and I should be able to set out a timeline for the next steps.

This is taking much longer than we had hoped, and I sincerely appreciate your support and your patience. As absolutely soon as possible, we will press the "done" button on the design phase and move on into production. "

You mean vigil and have you read the twitter? He did say he was going to post a blog, but didn't say anything about when or even 'soon' or any specific timeline or make any other promises.

Also, what was your guess a week ago?

Actually, Tarol did give a time frame to a blog post one week ago today.

I believe this is what he was referring to.

Odd, I would have thought RS would have pounced on that post like a starving dog on a plate of yummy bacon.

LOL, that was worthy of a mod warning. Hilarious.

Here's how I see this. I view Thunt as behaving like a self-indulgent prima donna who whines and promises but doesn't deliver, and the DEFENSE that is offered on these boards is that he's not a prima donna! He's MENTALLY ILL! So leave him alone!

And you folks actually think you are HELPING him? This is so hilarious that it's been far more entertaining than the comic has been for AGES.

Seriously, you actually don't realize how hilarious this all is? I'm not talking about THunt's situation, I have some sympathy for the guy. I'm talking about all of YOU and how you are reacting to it.

*edit* I do agree it is hilarious btw. Again not Thunts wellness but the happenings here

I'm not sure why it is, but whenever I read a post with capitalised words for no reason, I always assume it's some kind of secret code. I don't think that's true this time though sadly:

LOL H H I IT DEFENSE MENTALLY ILLS HELPING TAG ESSO THII YOU

Well, if I knew how to use italics or other forms of emphasis, I'd use them. And that is the reason for the caps, as I am sure you know quite well. Emphasis. EMPHASIS.

Get it?

Reading all this boot-licking hero worship combined with hand-wringing about the incredible mental fragility of Thunt and his great suffering I'm forced to conclude that a great many of his fans just like the idea that their favorite artist is some sort of tortured genius who suffers horribly for their pleasure.

I could psycho-analyze that for you, but I think it's pretty clear.

Outta here for good. Except maybe I'll come back from time to time to get a laugh.

That's it.. I've reached my limit as a calm, sedate individual and have crossed into 'thoughtful anger' territory... I can't really blame this post specifically, as I've read too many similar ones over the last month.

Some don't like that the comic is never on time? Fine... Some don't want to wait for THunt to figure out his issues? Fine... Some feel THunt owes them something? Fine... Some have an opinion that makes it difficult for them to continue supporting THunt? Fine.... Leave. Don't read the comic or visit the forum any longer.

Some of you think THunt's supporters are boot lickers, and that he's a whiny diva (or whatever)? I disagree; though maybe you're correct and this isn't the right comic and forum for you? Clearly, we're not the sort of individuals you want to associate with, so the decision SHOULD be easy for you. Walking away is the best course of action, if in fact you're a sensible adult. RUN AWAY... Save yourselves!!! Don't look back...
"And, isn't sanity really just a one-trick pony anyway? I mean all you get is one trick, rational thinking, but when you're good and crazy, oooh, oooh, oooh, the sky is the limit." The Tick

Hey! Why are you reading this? It's bad for your eyes, and there's nothing to see here; no words of wit or sage like advice.... Nope, none of that crap... Still here? Well, I guess you can stay for a little while, but no touching. Ok, MAYBE a little bit of touching, but don't expect a kiss... Oh, and don't expect me to cuddle afterwards, either. This is purely physical in nature, and you can't REALLY want something serious after everything we've been through? Fine... 20 seconds of heavy petting, and that's IT! Annnnnnnd done...

I am sure you have heard this before Catmandont, but not from me ... your avatar is THE most awesome thing I have seen in quite some time.

And Brassbaboon - we've had other trolls in here from time to time, but I've never really been moved to "Foe" someone before - so, congrats on that :)
