Anyway. I used to read this webcomic called Dominic Deegan. The comic is on all accounts terrible, but some character concepts were kind of interesting.
The author didn't really deliver on the potential of these characters, but I like to brainstorm ways to make these characters work. There was a villain who was basically a devil worshipper who had a pact with a demon.
The character in the comic didn't actually have any demonic powers, instead being a generic slasher villain with sharp claw gauntlets.
I had the idea that the character might have been more interesting as a kind of immortal, considering the demon he worshipped was a "Demon of wounds".
Might as well have a power that has something to do with your characters central theme. In my world he would've been nearly impervious to physical damage, but massively weak to holy magic. Simple, right?
