Wait, what machine?
Also, jeez, I hope we're not in for some heartbreak or something. I feel something bad on the horizon. Like the reference to the GAP encounter though, bumped us up from 99.9% certain it was Minmax to 100.

Actually, not necessarily.
Psymax has said the same line and he is supposed to get killed twice and there is that "restoration gear"...
The "remember me" line could potentially be by Psymax, not Minmax156.

Hmm.. well... while I'd love MM & Kin to get revenge on PsiMax, I do not hope that's the case.. As I kind of want to get back to the GAP soon... they have been out of the story for more than 2 years now... ever since 01 21 2011

I agree, that "Remember me?" instantly made me think of the bridge to the Dungeon Crawl.

That lets us know he CAN take Oblivious outside the maze.

Prediction: The alt-Kin will kill our Kin, and MinMax will be attempting the "go back to someone who has died" trick with the teapot. For whatever reason, that will bring him to the GAP. When has Thunt ever posted a filler/alternate-reality text page and not used the information as a plot point?

Kin's gonna die. Soon. You were warned.

The sky behind Minmax's future sword hand is yellow. Just like the sky where the GAP is.

edit: He also gets to keep the rainbow armor.

Not necessarily. Remember, Forgath was convinced that the Goblins are trying to destroy reality, too.

(This happened so incredibly long ago and got so little mention since then that I hope there's at least some callback to it, because I expect most readers have forgotten. But right now Folgath and Minmax's ultimate quest is to kill the GAP in order to prevent them from destroying the world, which they came to believe was the goblins' goal after reading some propaganda about the White Terror returning; they're going to get the Jade Teapot to accomplish that.)

I would like to hope that since the whole Young and Beautiful thing, Forgath is at least not going to try to kill the GAP on sight, but rather call out some challenge like "We're not going to let you free the White Terror, goblins! Surrender or we show you no mercy!" That way, the goblins can be like "White Terror? Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis?" (or words to that approximate effect), and a pointless battle averted.

I took this post as a sign that Thunt is preparing us for a return to the Goblins (and possibly when used in conjunction with the new navigation arrows make people cry), and today's comic seems to reaffirm that notion.

Unless Thunt is setting up a red herring (not sure if that s correct term - a Chekov's gun that is in fact NOT used.), he as good as said that the machine is capable of doing just that.

Well...

There's a component that does teleportation and restoration. This could be the component that resets the whole maze, bringing back to life all Alts who died in the previous run, and putting them back in their starting rooms. It could be possible to use the MoM reset switch to get Kin's tail back; but it isn't clear yet that this could be done without reseting everyone else too. I don't think Kin's restoration is as simple as setting Kin.tail.count(156)=1.

Well they're going to have to do something about it or Ruby and the gang are pretty much going to have to leave with her. Because she obviously isn't taking the Jade Teapot back 'the old fashioned' way by herself and we know basically Minmax and Forgath are going to the Goblins. And there's no way they'd have enough time to exit the Maze and huff it back with Kin and still make their scheduled appointment.

Huh... so the background of the "Future" through the portal is outside of the Maze of Many...

Man... I coulda swore Minmax wouldn't have been able to keep Oblivious... what with it existing only because the limited number of variables allowed it... fascinating.

I think it's rather transcended true understanding being predominately composed of Oblivion to be honest.

Good thing he said cake and backrubs, not footrubs. Kinda hard to do on a Yuan-Ti's snake-body. xD

Maybe they could set that up later. Sounds like a sweet thing to do for Kin. Except she might not like cake...

The problem there is... Thunt has plainly said that this "Oblivion" isn't "True Oblivion". Now, I suppose it could still be made of "Quasi-Oblivion" outside the maze... the problem I have is this:

Punching holes in time inside the Maze of Many is reasonable... limited number of variables... small pocket universe. Not so much damage it could cause, I imagine. However... punching holes in time, within the normal universe? >.> I imagine that could cause all kinds of havoc.

If they use the Teapot, the maze resets and all alts not in the winning party get returned, repaired, to the start booths. And I guess the deal Kin made with Minimax and Forgarth for her to be the one who gets the Teapot isn't going to mean anything to the other Kins, right, they want the teapot themselves?. Basically someone, or more than one someone probably, needs to run the maze again? So . . .

Kinship, including "our" Kin, goes back into the maze before MM and Forgarth use the teapot. Our kin gets repaired. MM gets a broken heart. Ruby-kins gets to say "It is for the best, he wasn't good enough for one of us, the dirty biped". Psi-max gets to have another try, and obliverises the maze. We all get sad.

Or.

The whole team, including the Kinship, brings up the other survivor and lets him have the teapot, goes back into the maze but first fiddling with the set-up conditions so as to keep their memories of events intact; using the power of love, hunt down Psi-max and Minimax gets to kill him twice. We all get happy.

I noticed that in Book 4, 19. The Axe And The Rope, the line is:
Hi Names. Remember me?
whereas the line from the current comic is just:
Remember me?
This does not confirm it's the same scene. Just imagine what happens if
