Re: MotBM (OOC)
Just to note, Warryn's only firing off his Magic Missiles if Dain gets his Poison Spray off. If Aura stops him, Warryn is gonna act all innocent and uninvolved with this plan

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Dammit Thinks, now I'm starting to feel sorry for this thing
I suppose if the rest of you are struggling to think of what to do, and don't want to stop Dain/Warryn directly, you could always try knocking the kid out instead of killing him? It might be the more "humane" approach to this problem. Just move behind him and whack him on the back of the head in melee or something.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Greeeaaat.
Probably should've just let Warryn fireball the whole bunch and then Dain follow up with a shatter spell. There's sometimes something to the theory of "kill 'em all and let God sort 'em out."

Hmm...sure, he probably would've used it during the heist at some point.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
I love how Warryn and Dain have both blown 3rd level spell slots on what seems to be a completely harmless monster-boy. Great use of our limited resources!

I think Dain might have earned himself a spot on the list.

Re: MotBM (OOC)

Well, did you expect upstanding citizens to be the ones recruitable for a heist? As for the 3rd level spell, yeah, he's not sure someone isn't going to try to stop him, so he's going to try to end it now...

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Honestly, I think that for a heist, while the alignments might generally allow for evil, they'd probably lean more towards neutral-evil? After all, if you're really fully evil, while would you bother with heists when assassination missions would probably rack in more cash and be a lot faster and in most cases, easier? Heists don't usually really "hurt" anyone, and if done well don't even require one to get their hands dirty. (Although the thieves in question would probably face that they'd occasionally have to get their hands dirty.)
Also, I'm not sure to be sad or relieved that the snake boy is not dead yet... Because I definitely don't actually want it dead, but now I'm not sure how Aura is going to react.
edit: I'm gonna wait to see whether the boy is knocked out or not before posting my own action.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
That's kinda where I've been trying to go with Warryn. He's Evil, but only in that he has very little empathy for other people. Stealing is easy, if you do it right you can be in and out without anyone even noticing. But killing is dirty and violent by its very nature, so he generally avoids it where possible. Too much risk of things going wrong. It's the same reason he doesn't like working in groups - things get messy when you have to rely on others to work together. I mean, look at the clusterfuck going on right now
That said, he won't lose any sleep over people dying because of him. He's just not gonna take any joy from it neither. He usually isn't quite this aggressive, either - being stuck in this maze is just stressing him the hell out

Too tempting to just rob the place after dark, probably
Though now I want to make a character who's Lawful Evil, but is just a regular banker/lawyer

Re: MotBM (OOC)

I've been loosely basing Dain off a character like Capt. Barbosa. Not in the sense truly evil per se, a bit sociopathic (others don't matter much except in what can they do for him), but willing to get his hands dirty to get the job done. Combine it with a sense of greed and a temper and there you go. If you cross him, expect bad things to happen unless you can fast talk your way out of it. Just don't expect him to forget it either. As the group is his "crew" so to speak, you get a certain amount of leeway. But I wouldn't start something physical with him unless you're pretty darn certain you can finish it.
One part of the problem here is that there's no designated group leader. You've got a bunch of individuals who are sticking together mainly because the alternative may be worse. With no clear cut chain of command, the ability of the group to rein in the excesses of someone like Dain is limited. I would not recommend letting him assume the leadership position unless you want to have a group behaving like a group of pirates/raiders/bandits. That being said, whoever DOES take the leadership position is going to have to do with force of personality and some ruthlessness in order to keep someone like Dain in line. He won't play second fiddle just because you said "please" (unless one of the 'ladies' plans to play femme fatal and seduce him!

It's a good thing that talking is a free action, because I'm not sure she'd be able to fit that little speech in 6 seconds.

Okay, you've got his attention. Now you're going to have to show you're the boss.
