Re: MotBM (OOC)
Kinda wishing I'd put popcorn in Warryn's Bag of Holding now. This sounds like it'll be fun to watch!

Re: MotBM (OOC)
You still need to contest the grapple roll, btw. I mean, you'll probably succeed, but still.

Re: MotBM (OOC)

While I personally wouldn't mind if Aura kicked Dain's rear (he most assuredly deserves it), it'll be a knock down, drag out if the others just sit back and watch. On the one hand, if she kicks his butt solo, he'll toe the line...as long as she's healthy or he doesn't develop some kind of major advantage, at which point he may re-challenge her. On the other hand, if the group backs her, he'll growl about it but follow her lead until such time as she loses the support of the group (very much according to the actual pirates code).

Meh. There's also the normal social rules of not being such an enormous liability that your party murder you for their own safety

Re: MotBM (OOC)

True. I promise to keep it within reason. And you do have another (unstated) point. We don't want to get so distracted with "character development" that we lose track of playing the game. It isn't supposed to be PvP after all. If it looks appropriate, I'll have/let Dain take a dive just so we can move things along. Just give me enough of a plausible excuse and we'll be on our way. We'll save leadership training and incident management for another day.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
I mean, Dain's backstory is basically how he rejected his heritage and went off to do whatever he wanted. Not sure social conventions are really something he cares about all that much

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Eh, he's only got 2 Lightning Bolts left today. That's only ~48 average damage, so Aura has the HP to survive it.....just

Re: MotBM (OOC)

Dain is a bit of an offense specialist ( in more than one meaning of the word). I'd be tempted to call him a glass cannon, but he does have a few defensive spells hung. I really don't know how he'd do in a close quarters fight. I suspect it be like wrestling an irritated bobcat. It might be survivable, but it wouldn't be pleasant.
Edit: To be perfectly honest, if someone finds a legitimate way to shut him up, I'd be obliged.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Warryn is basically the opposite. His only offensive spells are Firebolt (cantrip), Magic Missile, Dragon's Breath (mainly for giving to others, or Erik), and Fireball. Everything else is either defence or utility. I've noticed it makes him a bit...limited in combat - there's a reason he ran away from those ghosts instead of trying to fight them

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Well, Aura WOULD have started off with casting silence... Although the main strategy with starting off using that would have been to actually keep him in a grapple, and with that I came to realize I should prepare hold person next time I refresh my spells.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Thinks, how many chess pieces are there? Is it a full set of black and white pieces, or just one "side"? And which ones did the boy eat, again?

Re: MotBM (OOC)
I got the impression it was just one side and I believe it was the knight and bishop.

I think Lurks is correct and that my earlier interpretation was wrong.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Alright, in that case do you guys think we should try to get the bishop/knight back? I still think giving the chess set to the dragon-lady is a good idea, and a full side might be worth more to her than a couple of pieces. On the other hand, if we don't get the bishop/knight back, we might as well use a couple of pawns as snacks to get back on the snake-boy's good side.

Re: MotBM (OOC)
Aura probably wouldn't like the plan IC, but OOC I'm willing to give it a shot and have her cast revivify if you fuck up.

Bump!
((PS given that this is a somewhat experimental module, I'm totally ok if you guys would prefer to call it quits if you're not enjoying it. But let's call it one way or the other rather than just leaving it to die a quiet death

Not sure where Dain is right now? Is he still working his way across or has he reached the other side of the room?

Re: MotBM (OOC)
It's not that I'm not enjoying it, just that the inherent weirdness of everything often makes it really hard to decide on what to do... And I was waiting to see if my fellow companion was going to do anything as well and then, obviously, forgetting about it when they did not.
So I think at the moment the hold is up is simply that the others are waiting on seeing what happens with this "Chameleon"..? I suppose I'll get out another post, and we can see how it continues. I'll just have Aura be a bit cranky given the effect she's currently under.
