Nem will reach out to Ily telepathically and check if he's still within range.

The gagging stench might abate a touch, but it's still very unpleasant.

Cojlin will yell again, "OK, let me down really slowly, and when I yell again, stop lowering me."
He will go down, watching carefully. He is worried there may be undead in the water causing this really bad stench.

"Okay!" Randy turns to his helpers. "Let him down slowly, and be ready to pull him up in a hurry if he needs it."

Re: The Sundered Way
((Ily is beyond your 100 ft range, but you can still pop him back to you via extraplanar dimension, though it'd be hard to get him back down there.))
Coljin calls for the others to resume lowering him, and soon the water level comes into view at the edge of his vision.
((CON save and double rolled Perception check for Coljin (CON results may mean disadvantage on Perception).))

Constitution: 1D20+1 = [11]+1 = 12
Perception: 1D20+5 = [20]+5 = 25
Perception: 1D20+5 = [19]+5 = 24
Well, He might not like the smell, but he is still eagle eyed!!

Re: The Sundered Way
((I'll have another CON save from Ily too, please.))
Coljin just manages to keep his gorge from rising, and blinking through the tears coming unbidden to his eyes, spots a floating corpse. The limbs seem to be missing or underwater but the torso floats on the surface, tattered scraps of flesh trailing in the water, the exposed muscled gone pale and grey from long immersion in the water. The head is lolled back, and partially submerged, the large and distended belly floating highest. The remnants of what might have one time been a fine silk shirt still cling to the corpse. It smells pretty bad down here.

Re: The Sundered Way
Coljin wlil yell for them to stop lowering him when they are 10 feet from the waterline. Once there and stopped, he will get out his holy symbol and loudly proclaim his goddess and turn the (possibly) vile undead that is in the water.
If there is no reaction. He will ask to be pulled back up....
They will have to figure out a way to get this bloated dead body out of the well before it can be cleansed.

Re: The Sundered Way
((You're probably too far down to call back to where people would be able to easily understand, but I'll assume that you've set up a rope tug system to use on the second rope (with bucket and Ily).))
You turn the corpse, but there is no response. A few more tugs on the rope, and you are hauled back to the surface.

Ily keeps from barfing sparkles on Coljin's head as the two are lowered, and after they return to the surface, gives you a clear indication of his displeasure via angry sounding chittering and unpleasant mental sendings.

"I'm OK, but there is a fully bloated, but still intact body in the water. It's gonna have to be brought up here somehow before I can cleanse the well. And it stinks really bad, nearly getting sick bad."
Coljin shivers a bit thinking of the smell, "Do we have enough rope to send down another one with me so that I can try to tie it to the body and then we lift it out of the well? Or any other ideas?"

Re: The Sundered Way
Randy looks thoughtful. "If there's a waterlogged body down there, we're probably going to have bring it up in a bag or wrap it in a sheet before trying to haul it up. Otherwise, it'll just fall apart."

Re: The Sundered Way
"We got something aye'm sure. Let meh go check."
Dornikal will look for a tarp or sheet that would be big enough to hold the body and strong enough not to rip open as they pull it up. A tent canvas would work as well.
If he finds what he is looking for he will return with it and say,
"Probably best to wrap this round the remains a few times and tie it up with a rope. On ye secure it's bits we can pull it up. Good to secure the open tops and bottoms well too with a knot before we start pulling."

Re: The Sundered Way
"We'd probably better go dig a grave first. If it smells that bad down there now, imagine what it's going to be like when we bring the poor sod up and he starts to cook in the sun. We'll want to put him straight in the ground fast." Randy starts looking for something that could be used to dig with.
