((Szartha's not putting the reins to you, but he's still in the driver's seat. Any instructions or warnings he'd be conveying in Draconic, politely.))

((So Maji and Szartha in the front wagon, Tess and Holger in rear, or gnomes in rear?))

It occured to me I wasn't clear at all as I wrote my post hastily, but Holger hoped to get in contact with his patron by playing the repaired lyre.

Holger will turn towards the three headed snake and hex it before casting eldritch blast at it

Holger initiative: 1D20+3 = [13]+3 = 16
Holger eldritch blast (tide of chaos): 2D20.HIGH(1)+6 = [5, 6]+6 = 12
Eldritch blast damage: 1D10+1D6 = [6]+[2] = 8

I think middle for the show wagon fits well.

"Ulmwin, the three headed one should be susceptible to your spells now!"

I choose wisdom with hex, granting it disadvantage to all wis rolls

"That so? Let's see!" Ulmwin says, playing some very dissonant chords as the beast will likely flee in terror...

Dissonant whispers: 3D6 = [3, 6, 2] = 11

WIS save 12, on fail take full damage and they have to use their reaction to shift as far as possible, on success halve damage.

Nem will hook the reins out of the way, turn and shoot the closest snake head. For now she'll keep Ily back with her (seems far too dangerous for him).

((Do the mules need to be driven? If so...))

She'll yell at holger to swap places with her so she can use her sneakiness.

Crossbow attack: 1D20+4 = [12]+4 = 16

Crossbow damage: 1D8+2 = [2]+2 = 4

It's wisdom checks, not saves.

Renny, turning to see what the commotion is about, sees the snakes and begins shouting while rummaging in one of the wagons.

"HURM! HURRR HURR!"

He pulls out his cleaver and points at the snakes, rubbing his substantial belly.

Dornikal goes on the offensive, bellowing a challenge as spittle flies from his mouth to land in his short beard (which is coming in nicely). He sprints forward, before hurling his javelin at the nearest snake, an emerald mote on the tip trailing through the air, to burst into green light as it impacts the snake, who writes back in surprise.

The angry dwarf drops back slightly, pulling out the spear he'd been given.

((Tess, with your positioning, the lead snake is beyond your 80ft short range increment on the crossbow. You'd be able to judge this, so you could either hold your attack until they get in range, or you can roll another attack for disadvantage. Mules can be left to their own devices, but they may not move or stop as you wish if they aren't being driven.))

(( I'll go ahead and post Randy's action since I don't thing anything is likely to change it, given distances involved.))

Randy sees that the distance is too great for accurate shooting, so after he unlimbers his bow he sprints back towards the snakes while getting an arrow ready. (He'll pass along the south side of the wagons, pretty much just straight west).

Tess, realizing that the snakes are a bit distant for a sure shot, holds, but doesn't have long to wait, as the snakes surge forward across the sand.

The north most snake surges forward, as it comes within range, Tess looses her bolt, which buries itself in snake flesh. With a hiss, it slithers in her direction.

The snake that Dornikal hit with a javelin slithers right past him, headed to the rear most wagon.

The third snake quickly moves forward across the sand as well.

Galt moves up, and bringing his greatsword around, strikes deep into the snake that Tess shot, it seems irritated.

Galt: Attack: 1D20+7 = [16]+7 = 23
2D6+5 = [3, 4]+5 = 12

((Holger, you're about 125 ft from the three headed snake, you'd need to be within 90 for hex, or 120 for eldritch blast.))

AoO attack middle snake: 1D20+6 = [14]+6 = 20

AoO attack middle snake dmg: 1D6+4+1D6+2 = [3]+4+2+[2]+2= 13

((Not sure if radiant damage applied on AoO so 9 damage if it doesn't.))

Now that I realized I misunderstood the hex effect, I've deleted the previous post telling Ulmwin to target it. I'll switch to targeting the same snake as Tess and Galt and curse it's strength checks instead. He'll stay on the wagon for now.

12 to hit 8 damage

Dornikal slashes across the length of the snake as it moves past him, carving pretty deep into it's muscled flesh.

Holger casts hex on the snake by Galt, faint, sparkling green and purple tendrils twining about it. He shifts probability slightly, sending an eldritch blast streaking and crackling towards it, that just manages to hit, the impact causing the tendrils to pulse as the snake takes extra damage.

Sorry for delay, please someone Roll for me.

Coljin does a quick spell and casts Toll the dead on the snake that Galt is near. (1d12 as it is already damaged)

Coljin stretches out a hand and the sound of a bell tolls. The snake twitches a bit, but doesn't seem too terribly bothered.

Snake Save: 1D20 = [2] = 2

Coljin tolls: 1D12 = [1] = 1

Ulmwin jams out some horrible screeching, targeting the same snake, which manages to withstand the effect and not flee, but it hisses in pain.

Snake Wis save: 1D20 = [13] = 13

((Takes 5 damage.))

Szartha flicks his hands together and sends a firebolt at the same snake, but it arcs past into the desert, eventually fizzling as it hits sand.

Szartha: Firebolt: 1D20+5 = [2]+5 = 7
2D10 = [8, 10] = MISS
