"Hey, where'd Maji get off to?"

"I went to try to distract them earlier and then had to walk away or they would have known I was up to something. I don't know for certain where Maji or Randy went, I'm assuming they used magic to get down that alley."

((Does that mean that Coljin tagged along to the infirmary with Holger, Randy and Dornikal? Is Ulmwin still back by the alley, or did you all leave Maji to his fate?))

There is a burbling splash as you thump whatever is at your feet takes the end of your staff off some part of its anatomy. You feel your feet yanked from under you... ((Athletics or acrobatics to try to stay on your feet.))

Sorry. Was confused. I thought Dornikal was still in the alley

Coljin is with Ulmwin in the alley. Though unsure how long they should wait for maji

Whatever is under the water slams into Maji's legs, knocking them out from under him and dropping him prone in the water, extinguishing his lantern and leaving him thrashing and splashing about in the dark.

((It got a 12 on its Shove check, but expended its Attack Action to do so. Your turn! It takes half your movement to stand back up again, if you'd like to.))

Maji gives a low growl at his attacker as he stands up. He unleases acid at the creature.

Dragonbreath dc 12 con for half [2d6] = 11

If it's still up, he uses his bonus action to have his belt hand grab the lamp as he holds the staff in both hands.

You belch forth your acid, and can hear it splash onto the water's surface. You secure your lantern, and grip your staff in both hands.

The water swirls at your feet as something circles you before splashing up and out of the water with a burbling hiss. Out of the darkness, something slams into your staff, but you don't get much chance to celebrate the miss, as something else connects with your side, and multiple cold, wet tentacle-y somethings wrap around your abdomen and chest and begin squeezing.

Maji gives the creature a hard shove to push it away. If he's free he goes to the wall and transforms into a spider and climbs as far away as possible from it.

[1d20+2] = 13+2 = 15

((If you're turning into a spider, I'll say that breaks the grapple it has on you anyway, and you would still have your action if you wanted to do something else, like dash or hide... ))

(Okay cool! Maji will do that and use his dash to climb up the wall even higher so that the creature can't get to him)

"He changed into a rat and snuck through the gate the guards were at while Holger distracted them. I thought one was going to stab him with his spear, but the other one settled him down. He got in okay."

He will give a look back in the direction the came from before continuing to tag along.

" I wouldn't expect much to pay attention to a rat in a prison...unless it tries to eat him." Randy gives a chuckle. "In that case, it would get a nasty surprise when the rat suddenly turned into a rather large, and probably irritated, dragon born. Could make it a bit of a problem for Maj getting out in that case. He'd probably have to use some other form. I'm guessing he's still undiscovered at this point as there's no hue and cry about it."

((Though you three have left and arrived at the infirmary by now. So at least, they're wasn't a hue and cry when you left...))

Randy looks over the infirmary with some interest.

Perception: 1d20+3 = [16] = 19

It's a rather blocky single story stone building, the only windows are rather small and high up on the walls. There are steps going up the front door, which is a solid wooden affair. A sign above bears the word "Infirmary" and there are symbols depicting human healing deities as well as the shield and spear symbol of the town guards. It's not a new building, but seems in good repair, so must not be suffering too much for funding.

A single guard stands at the door, her shield and spear close at hand as she speaks to an older fellow in bleached white robes.

"They made it sound more like a crime scene though. Doubt whoever did it stuck around though."

Holger gives Randy a short reply before motioning him to follow as he moves up to the guard and the older fellow.

"Greetings, I got news of someone being badly wounded who just got send here and we have some magic available that could save their life."

Dornikal tries to make himself inconspicuous.

((Is Holger still strolling about with gems orbiting his staff?))
