Merric is a bit hesitant to make it back to the boat right away. Was there time enough for a short rest in the boat because I would like to have used some hit dice for healing xD

((Sure; between the spider house and now you'd have had plenty of time for a short rest)).

Okay lets see... 1 subtle trap NW near tiny rock. 1 subtle E near the ...log? 1 subtle slightly S of herb garden, 1 obvious Sw of herb garden and make it look like its for animals by putting some rations on it. 2 subtle east.

...Is that good?

Vine roll!
Survival: 2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [3, 13]+3 = 16

Mehr will use Mending on the floorboards Varsk lifts to hide the evidence of tampering.

((As another note, should Mehr just be learning all spells that start with M? So far he's really only used Magic Missile (MM) and Mending (M), so we've essentially got Mehr's Magic Menagerie (MMM)... Gods, the things a tired mind comes up with.))

Syli assists the others in their preparations however she can, making sure to keep a close eye on the dragonborn elder.

((Sorry, have to catch up on what's going on here.))

The party return to Artho and the canoe and head back towards the deeper water, moving west then north to try and get towards the exposed shore. As you paddle forwards, I'll take perception checks from everyone.

------------------------

While Varsk works inside the house, Gwen goes looking for vines, and finds enough for about four snares. For each one, let me know if it's a foot trap or a tree trap, and roll me a survival check for each one.

((What else would you like to do?))

3 will be foot traps and 1 will be tree trap. The tree trap will be located in the westren area.

surv: 2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [19, 14]+3 = 22
2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [8, 19]+3 = 22
2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [10, 17]+3 = 20
2D20.HIGH(1)+3 = [16, 17]+3 = 20

I hop into the canoe, and am initially stuck behind one of the tall folk, without a good view.
Perception: 1D20+2 = [1]+2 = 3

I lean to the side, but it's not much better...

Perception: 1D20+2 = [5]+2 = 7

Varsk will spend the rest of his time watching Vaceran make the poison and assisting where he is able.

"What's this mix do? I'm a fan of fast actin' paralytics. They get the point across and generally leave the person able and willing to make good on their debts...in a day or so."

He glares into the swamp,

"Tonight we're gonna need somethin' a bit more permanent."

Kal is busy trying to steer the canoe. He's also a little distracted by the halfling behind him rocking the boat. 4+1=5

Sorry, got a bit preoccupied with work and some other stuff taking my limited spare time recently

"So they seem to be arguing about whether they should take the offer or shoot us I guess. Got something more to convince them it shouldn't be the latter?"

Merric perception: 1D20+1 = [16]+1 = 17

The group head back to the canoe and head back towards the north. Merric hears a growly, grunty sort of noise from the area to the west. It sounds more like something snoring or groaning in pain than talking, but they soon pass out of range as you float by.

As they reach the "shore", it becomes clear that it is actually a heavy log that has been roped across the end of the channel. There looks to be a pool opening out behind the log.

Merric will try to see if he can reach the one in pain with his telepathy

"We can help you."

He'll turn to Kal as he speaks the local language

"Sounds like one is in pain, say we can help them."
