Tests and Trials

"Uh... fine... I think...", he looks upwards into the tree in confusion.

[thinkslogically]

"Don't you sodding dare cut my rope!" Ves yells down.

Ves lets it go, and scampers down the tree to the paladin, who, if he did indeed cut the rope, will get an earful about it.

((Just FYI, she would have let go of the rope as soon as they lizard thing stopped happening. No way can she support Kroshav's weight))

((Thought she'd tied it around the tree trunk? Otherwise I would have called for strength check!))

((Nah, she looped it around and held it (for leverage or whatever the actual physics are). If Kroshav was startled already, she'd just have looped it around the tree for speed.))

((Ah okay, he didn't get heavy until he broke his little lizard neck on hitting the trunk so no weight to have to hold up when he was laying on the branches.))

Jaq continues sitting where he is, watching the fine mess. He actually does smile just a bit, "I can see how the fey find this prank, just a bit...funny. I'm sure we'll look back at this in time and we'll all also find it amusing."

Getting up, Jaq heads over to Kroshav, "How's your head?" Looks like you might have worked your way into a headache."

Kroshav heals himself that 1 HP.

"I feel fine... what just happened?"

[NotStickFigures]

"Well, I think we were just pranked by pixies. We didn't see them, but could hear them laughing. They seem to have turned you into a lizard for a bit, as there form of joke, and then fled off laughing."

"Oh... ok.", Kroshav shrugs.

Jaq smiles, Kroshav took the explanation far better than Jaq would have.
"Yeah, I'm guessing we'll run into strange things happening out here in the wilderness, but we might have managed to have the strangest thing happen right off at the start!"

"Yeah... I guess.", Kroshav says quietly as he removes the severed bit of rope from around his middle and hangs it on the lowest branch before gathering his javelins and looking out into the surrounding forests.

Jolly looks around nervously,

"So, shouldn't we be goin' before we get turned inta something else?"

[Dlover]

"Weak prank, doing the same thing twice."

[NotStickFigures]

"If we do meet up with them again, the pixies, as difficult as it might be to do, we should not ready our weapons and instead just try to talk to them. If they don't find us a threat, it will probably go better."

"But yes, I think it might be a good idea to move on from here."

((Think he's just saying that if they poly us again, it will have lost some of its impact.))

((Wasn't sure who Lurn was responding to, that makes the most sense. Who can say what would be lame to them? They started out with the equivalent of tying your shoelaces together!))

"Ah wouldnae put it past em ta do it again, o turn us inta somethin' else. It donae even have ta be a beast."

The group packs up and continues north. Ves still a bit angry (?) about her cut rope and Kroshav a bit distant. Jolly is on edge as you start and move away from the clearing and mutters while looking all around,

"Was all that normal for these woods?"

Yeah, Ves will lead them northwards, grumbling about the rope and stupid lizards a bit as they go.

Jaq follows along, staying directly behind Ves who is leading.

Ves leads the group onward towards their destination. They travel more or less in silence once Ves gets the grumbling out of her system. Jolly becomes less twitchy the further they get from their pixie encounter. Jaq and Lurn keep their eyes and ears open as they walk but neither notices anything unusual.

As the sun sets it quickly becomes dark among the trees and everyone without darkvision needs to slow to be able to find their way and before long can't see well enough to move at all.
