Re: Minecraft OOC
So come to a quiet spot and build. There's plenty of unspoiled terrain if you go out far enough (which is about 15K+ at this point; the spawn looks like Tekkit shit all over it)Nerre wrote:I play MC, but I am more a creative or eco-builder, not a pvper

I'm really sorry if I'm ruining it for anyone, I just don't know when to stop digging...

Re: Minecraft OOC
I'm enjoying my little island... Though I keep having very, very unfortunate encounters undergroudd and in the nether. So far I have lost the following thanks to these moments of "Fun": The ~ means roughly
127 iron ingots
56 gold ingots
4 full sets of iron armor
1 diamond pick
MANY iron swords and picks
18 blocks of obsidian
~120 pieces of nether quarts
~200 redstone dust
~50 Lapis Lazu
~100 coal
37 railroad rails
1 flint and steel
1 Compass
1 Clock
Several tons of stone and netherack.
It kind of makes me not want to venture off my island any more.

Re: Minecraft OOC
I see you got to the point of having too much redstone... Although usually I reach it very quickly since each block drops about 4 of them and there is not really much to do with them.
Also, did you know that version 1.6 will contain HORSES? I played the snapshot, it's awesome!

I will join once I get around to actually buying Minecraft. I am working to scrounge up the $27 needed to buy it.

Re: Minecraft OOC
I have only played the demo, and to be honest I was kind of lost. I was interested to see the screenshots though, your little land looks pretty neat Badge

The game is complicated in the beginning, but you understand it quickly. I always got lost in my first times.

Think we could pick a spot way out in the wilderness, post the coordinates, and establish Goblin Town? If so I might pop in to play, otherwise I'll just get lost and never see anyone.

Re: Minecraft OOC
My island is relatively isolated. Started on a brick light house, I have man building where I cook ores and clay and food, and a nearby archipelago that I mine into and farm trees from. My nether portal is accessed underwater.
I think my next project will be to fortify the area in the nether where my portal exits so I don't risk ghasts blowing it up... again.

Re: Minecraft OOC
I am playing on another server at the moment, it is to PVP for me. I prefer a eco-build or creative world where people can just build and mine without fighting anything except the monsters.

Re: Minecraft OOC
That sounds like my type of game (non PvP) I love the posibilities in minecraft... would be sad of they are lost in PvP hack n' slash...Nerre wrote:I am playing on another server at the moment, it is to PVP for me. Assuming I can get the game this weekend I'd love to set up a goblin town with you.LoneStarNorth wrote:Think we could pick a spot way out in the wilderness, post the coordinates, and establish Goblin Town? If so I might pop in to play, otherwise I'll just get lost and never see anyone.
I haven't actually played PvP yet, but I doubt I'll like it as much as PvE. Working together, making awesome floating castles and giant tree-houses...

Re: Minecraft OOC
Not happening. The admin is shutting down the server, he can't afford either the money or the time to host/enjoy it. A new server and spawn are in the works, though. Badge has the details if he decides to post the IP.Orga the Strange wrote:Assuming I can get the game this weekend I'd love to set up a goblin town with you.LoneStarNorth wrote:Think we could pick a spot way out in the wilderness, post the coordinates, and establish Goblin Town? Re: Minecraft OOC
And I was just getting into it...
And it really depends. A friend of mine had a spare pc and used this as a server for minecraft- Which means that technically, all he had to invest was the electricity to keep it running and time to keep it maintained. (Sadly he had to shut it down)
There's also plenty of sites which offer you server hosting, though most of those are expensive.
