Throne room and treasure room 'riddles'

Post by crasskris » Thu May 16, 2013 1:14 pm

Just as I re-read the last book, something occured to me...gonna put it into spoiler tags, for the extremely unlikely chance that even part of my theory is true.

The riddle of the tower room is slightly unclear, as the order is not clear.
The unshaded version seems to indicate a different order: http://www.goblinscomic.com/comics/20130301.jpg

I'd swap lines 5&6 with 7&8 in your list.

what about psimax? he seems to have pretty extensive knowledge of the place, and he was (planning on) waiting by the treasure room to intercept the winner, not in the tower room, which suggests he thinks that the circles in the treasure room are the ones which 'win' the maze

That's why I linked the unshaded version, where there are only 2 blocks !
It's much easier to put into an order.....

Looking at it purely as separate lines, that is probably the best order as well.

But it doesn't guarantee that he's right. After all, it's unlikely that he'd allow anyone to actually win and nobody would think of jumping into the braziers until they've read the clue in the treasure room. If PsiMax kills them as soon as they arrive, neither he nor they will ever realize that the circles in the treasure room are a decoy.

I do think that the braziers are probably those colors simply to make them dramatic (nothing says drama like primaries). Thunt has used the red/blue division before in the Bloodlight maze. I expect the treasure room to have its own weird trickery.
