If you guys want to research UFO power source, it might be a good idea to interrogate the Thin man first. Iirc, they give UFO research credit (meaning any UFO related stuff gets researched faster).

That's what I keep saying! Interrogating anybody Captured should be First Priority, as they will Always reduce the time for other researches.

Dexter signs up for the mission, taking a SCOPE, Laser Sniper Rifle, and Laser Pistol.

Hanuel signs up as well, taking a Laser heavy weapon, and a protective vest.

John signs up for the mission, with a MEDKIT, laser rifle (if available), laser pistol (if available), and best armor available.

Hanaro signs up for the new mission and decides to bring the Arc Thrower. It never hurts to capture more aliens for interrogation.

Pre Combat Sequence

Before engaging in hostilities, an additional suit or Carapace armor is constructed to ensure the entire 6 man squad have adequate protection.

The squad is deployed. Astuka has the command, with Dexter providing ranged fire support, while Nikolai brings his explosive personality. Hanaro, Haneul, and Max all bring heavy support. Max also has the new laser cannon (decided by drawing straws.) Hanaro is bringing an arc thrower.



Strike One are being deployed directly to Canada. This mission is a VIP extraction. There is a civilian down there that the council wants alive. Strike one, you need to make sure that happens.







The deployment zone is on a free way overpass. Apparently the VIP's convoy was moving along this when they were ambushed. Ahead of Strike One is a survivor from the convoy. He may have more information.

Sequence 1

Atsuka sprints over to the nearby civilian. Turns out he's a soldier from Van Doorn's detail. He explains that they were ambushed by X-rays. Van Doorn is somewhere up ahead, he went back in to the fray to try and save a soldier.


Nikolai dashes to the nearby car, adopting an overwatch position.



Hanaro Sprints ahead of the team, he gets a clear view around the truck, but can't see anything.


Haneul rushes up beside the solider, but the soldier has already passed all his info on to Atsuka.


Max adopts an overwatch position behind Nikolai.


Dexter moves to the flank, trying to find a clear field of fire.

Sequence 2

Max advances to the next car, adopting an overwatch fire position.






Haneul advances to the next car, he spots two Thinmen to his left flank, and has a good shot at one of them. So rather then overwatching he takes the shot, shredding the Skinny.



Nikolai dashes up to the next car. He sites two Thinmen down on the lower level of the freeway.


Atsuka dashes up to the hard cover of the concrete barrier and overwatches.


Hanaro wanted to dash up closer, but he is sure that if he does he'll get ambushed by the three Thinmen, so instead he re-positions and overwatches, preparing for the counter attack.


Dexter dashes up to the squad, he could adopt overwatch, however his pistol wont have the range to aid in a firefight presently, so he elects to get closer.



The first Thinmen to vault onto the upper Freeway level gets nailed by Atsuka, killing it.



A second Thiman comes around the flank, taking a shot at Atsuka. She is flanked, and the shot wounds her.



The third Thinman then tries to finish the job, but Max opens up with the new Heavy Laser, obliterating it.


Atsuka presently has a 60% hit chance on the Thinman


Nikolai's shot is no good from this range. (12%)


Haneul has a 45% chance.


Hanaro has a 46% chance to hit presently.

Sequence 3

Atsuka moves to flank the Thinman, she gets a perfect shot and takes it, smoking the Skinny.



Haneul advances to the next car on the road.



Hanaro also advances.


Max steps up to were Hanaro was, adopting an overwatch position.



Nikolai takes up position beside Haneul.


Dexter advances, keeping his pistol drawn and his eyes up.

Van Doorn yells out from just ahead of the Strike team, and the area appears clear of X-rays for now.

Sequence 4

Atsuka advances. She gets as close to Van Doorne as she can, while still being able to administer medical attention to herself. As she advances she spies a Thinman on the upper freeway.


Haneul adopts an overwatch position.






Hanaro dashes to Van Doorne, he sights a second Thinman above them. With Van Doorne in hand, he now needs to be extracted from the combat zone back to the Sky Ranger Zulu Six One. On the way Hanaro is poisoned by the toxins left over by the dead Thinmen.



Dexter has a good shot on one of the newly spotted Thinmen. He takes it. Unfortunately the shot goes wide.


Max Dashes to cover near the rest of the team. Max poisons himself getting to this position, but he is now in a great spot to offer covering fire to the squad.


Nikolai advances, he can get no clean shots, so he advances to harder cover.


Van Doorne sticks his head down and prays.









In retaliation. the two Skinnies mobilize against Strike One. The first Thinman takes a shot at Atsuka, hitting her.
The Second Skinny advances to the lower levels, and also shoots at Atsuka, hitting her again. Thank god she administered medical attention this turn...


Max and Hanaro take Poison damage.


Kitty has 2 shots, both at 60%


Nikolai can hit the Skinny on low ground with a 66% chance


Haneul can hit the Skinny on low ground with 65% chance


Max can hit the X-ray on the ground with a 52% chance.


Dexter can hit both X-rays, 99% on the low ground, and 79% on the high.


Hanaro has no shots.

Sequence 5

Dexter lines up the upper Skinny, dropping it with a brutal shot to one of the creatures vital organs.





Max unloads on the Second Thinman, killing it too. He then goes on to overwatch, an action he can complete due to his training in 'bullet swarm'


Haneul goes on overwatch, awaiting any new threats.


Van Doorne runs up to the upper freeway to heavier cover, sheltering near all the big men with big guns.


Atsuka also heads to the upper freeway, and heals herself again.


Nikolai pulls back and overwatches.


Hanaro pulls back too.



A lone Thimen jumps up onto the freeway and goes in to overwatch.





He triggers an absolute torrent of reaction fire, and is annihilated. Hanaro and Max also take more poison damage.

"Alright, Everyone, Spread out and find some cover! I'll get the survivor." Atsuko says, moving up next to the survivor and questioning him, then going into overwatch.

[Nolandking]

"Yeah this is way to easy. Just you watch as seen as we get to the guys a dozen X-Rays will come out the woodworks" said Nikolai as he head behind the small red car door and goes into overrwatch.

"I'm moving to the front!" Hanaro dashes to the hardcover at the corner of the big truck, so that the box is on his right and he can look around the corner further down the interstate.

Hanuel dashes up to take cover behind the red SUV next to the crouching guy.

"What happened here? where is Mr. Van Doorn?

Max advances to the red car with the open door, into the direction of the first civilian. "Laser heating up, I got you back!" he says, going on overwatch while patting his new baby.

OOC: In singleplayer this often was the mission with the first very mechanical-monster-heavy enemies, sometimes even with the large walker-things which had like 20 hit points. If this is the case, thank good most or all of us took heat ammo.

I think that depends entirely on when you get the mission. I've gotten it early in the game and only gotten Thin men. Actually, for most of these Council Missions, I've only gotten Thin Men...A Heck of a Lot of them, but only Thin Men.
