Jas laughs "There have always been connections to Mundania...though I didn't know Tenel was a Mundainian. No wonder he's actually intrested in the crown!"

"There have? But isn't it a... Mundane world? How could a place like that have something so extraordinary as a connection to our world?"

Jas shakes his head. "Almost everyone who lives in Xanth has family came from Mundania...As explain it...explain magic...not how it works but why it exists...Yeah the demon but where did the demon get it hmmm? Usually there is a connection somewhere in Mundainia to the Far Northwest of Xanth. Which we know about since the first real hindrance to an invasion is the river I grew up on. Well besides the stones..."

We can't take Jilli, but it occurred to me that the ogre might be willing and useful.

"Go my friend, I shall miss you but there are great things in your future." Vera speaks into Synge's mind with just a hint of sadness in her voice. Luckily Synge is too dumb to realize this so happily follows the group out of the pastures.

After awhile the moss and cactus thorns quickly die and drop off of the party, Synge initially feels very uneasy about not having the other mind connected to his but finds solace in his new companions. The group passes through dangerous obstacles it seems that with all of their combined powers, yes even including Duncan's ( ), they are able to tredge their way through some of the worst terrain in Xanth. Suddenly the come upon a village the people there are vary weary of strangers except for one man who approaches seeming rather tired. "Be you here to help or hinder?" he asks gruffly?

Synge seems to benefit from increased focus and comprehension without the constant voice of Vera in his head, and his colour has returned to a normal ogrely green-grey. He steps in front of his new group defensively and crosses his arms.

"That depend, be you friend?"

Tenel speaks up from the back of the group. " We're pretty nice people. I think we prefer to help rather than hinder."
