For a moment Hugh feels like he's floating in an empty void. Somehow... Calming, yet terrifying at the same time. But somewhere in the dark place, there was something odd. An... Itch. He was forgetting something. Something was nagging him in the back of his head that needed attending to. He could sense it front of him. Something big and cocky.

Sam studies his opponents, instantly forming a strategy in his head. Alexander, go down! Hit the Stunkfisk where it hurts! Draco, stay away and use Twister on the Tirtouga.
Alexander gets a hit on the location of his target, and instantly goes down. Unfortunately Draco has a little more trouble locating his opponent as his twister (probably) goes wild.

Both Carrie and Ian desperately chuck Pokeballs at the fish, hoping to catch it before they fall asleep. Sadly, they both fail, and are soon crumpled up on the deck snoozing peacefully.
Meanwhile, their 'mons are actually doing shit. Finn's Psybeam does significant damage, and while Nuke's little smack is a bit less impressive, that's probably for the best, considering how injured the Relicanth now is. Speaking of which, the fish reacts pretty badly to Finn's attack, recklessly leaping forward and slamming into him like a rock for 58(43) damage!

Deep in his sleep, Hugh has only the faintest awareness of what's going on around him. Luckily that's all he needs, as his subconscious forces the Spiritomb to join him (and Bubbles) in sleepyland. Kalai then moves in and sinks her fangs into the ghost, but finds his attack barely scratches the creature. In fact, if anything, it seems to actually be getting stronger - with a flash of dark light, the ghostly orbs that used to be Haunters all pulse simultaneously, each one sacrificing a portion of it's energy stores to heal and empower the sleeping Spiritomb!
But then out of nowhere, one of them disappears entirely, abruptly exploding into a swirling vortex of ethereal dust! And as the remnants disappear, the culprit comes into view - the Golett which showed Hugh the obsidian stone, its fist still encased in shadows from where it punched the ghost orb into oblivion!
Archie, meanwhile, has no idea how to react to this sudden and expected development. And so, since Hugh's last orders were to not attack unless commanded, the bird just sits there and starts preening his feathers to a nice metallic sheen.

While Carrie snoozes, Ian manages to wake up and takes another shot at catching the fish - only for his ball to get headbutted out of the air by the angry, injured sea creature. Then Finn blasts it with some more psychic energy, easily knocking it unconscious and ending the fight.

With Carrie still asleep, Ian leans against the railing of the ship and waits for her to wake up, looking out over the calm blue ocean stretching out before him. His eyes sweep slowly across the horizon, taking in the pristine, unblemished view. But then he spots....something. A blurry, indistinct shape, just on the edge of his range of vision. Is that....land?

Waking up with a start, Hugh keeps up the status effects, Glaring angrily at the Spiritomb - and this time with no annoying Haunters there to block it! Kalai then rips through the ghostly orbs, destroying them easily with his sharp pincers.
But, it might already be too late. As the Golett hunkers down and improves its defences, the Spiritomb suddenly and violently awakens from its slumber, shooting forward unpredictably and unleashing a powerful pulse of darkness that sends everyone diving for cover! Kalai, Archie, and Bubbles (who just woke up) all manage to avoid the attack, but Hugh isn't as lucky, taking the full brunt of the 64(59) damage hit!

Bursting out of the muddy ground, Alexander slams into the Stunfisk and drives it into the earth for significant damage. Rex then comes out to play and easily takes out the tanky turtle with a flurry of razor sharp leaves, though it does manage to dart forward and slam into his face for 43(15) damage before it goes down. But then the Stunfisk reflexively lets off a powerful 64(102) damage electrical Discharge directly into Alexander's shell! Unless he uses Protect, of course...
The Tirtouga's replacement is the spiral-shelled Omanyte, which is very much in it's element in the shallow water.

Bursting out of the muddy ground, Alexander slams into the Stunfisk and drives it into the earth for significant damage. Rex then comes out to play and easily takes out the tanky turtle with a flurry of razor sharp leaves, though it does manage to dart forward and slam into his face for 43(15) damage before it goes down. But then the Stunfisk reflexively lets off a powerful 64(102) damage electrical Discharge directly into Alexander's shell! Unless he uses Protect, of course...
The Tirtouga's replacement is the spiral-shelled Omanyte, which is very much in it's element in the shallow water.
