OR He's just being paranoid.

Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't all out to get you, that's how the saying goes right?

Hell, maybe Spain doesn't even exist in this timeline and it's all Vikings and Carthaginians and Greeks or something!

I would expect that if vikings rose to prominence through the middle ages they might have conquered much of northern Europe and what is now the UK, perhaps placing them as an alternative British Empire, maybe with a head-start on colonising the globe compared to Spain, the Netherlands, Portugal and France (as they were then at least) since ships and exploration was sort of the vikings' thing.

The 16th - early 20th Century world would be quite different without British flags all over it...

I think it would be largely the same, just with less tea and crumpets and more beer and fish.

So, the Alternative timeline part of this game is
1. The vikings are (Successfully) colonizing the Americas earlier than any other nation
2. The land mass that may or may not eventually be known as "America" is not the same as reality.

However, as much as possible, the timeline on the European side, will remain the same. That means that, from what I can research, other nations will be coming to the fair shores of "yourland" and try to set up their own colonies. Wars will be fought and won or lost and the great struggle between new and old will commence, at least for the first while. Assuming this colony is successful, Scandinavian may try to create more colonies such as yours, with this.."City" acting as more of a "head of state".

I'll deal with those resources and such when we get there....if we get there..

shit, maybe the native american's will win this time around? who knows....only time will tell.

 You're probably right m0rt! Probably no monarchy though, right? Or did vikings have kings?

Badge - So how should we react to Quarg's guy's statement?. Like if none of us have heard of "Spain" we're probably more likely to think he's just some wild castaway driven mad by the sea than we would if Spain is a legitimate, large political player on the world stage.

That's cool we got here first though. Maybe we can just befriend the natives with our common appreciation of super awesome god pantheons.

EDIT: I've been watching this series lately and it's awesome: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeX6CX5LEj0

You would have a general knowledge that other countries in Europe exist, if you're a smarter person, Like the good doctor theis, you may even be able to name most of them. Your knowledge of the affairs of the other countries are limited to what knowledge the boat captains pass on to you, like they did when they last visited. (or were supposed)

Point of Order, John was involved with one of the English Expeditions in his background so hearing about what the Spanish were claiming etc. does sort of fall on things he should know from his past.

(I mean there is a reason that the first things built at Jamestown and Roanoke settlements were not farms but forts...and if you look at them, they tended to have their big cannon pointed at the sea not the locals...)
Really...why are you reading this?

Right, sorry. They still wouldn't have started building forts yet though, right?

I am assuming Spain has still set up a colony in the New World in about 1492-1494...

Oh, and if Europe is still acting in a similar manner...The treaty of Tordesillas occuring in 1495 about 5 years before the start of this game...https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Tordesillas
Really...why are you reading this?

Well, it would had I known about it I suppose....I can only read so much.

In many ways...I think of the Vikings as the equivalent of the Honey Badger videos.

So... would it be correct to assume this game is dead and done? It's been 5 months now.
